Raw score of 43, Advised score for test is 50

I got a raw 43 on the english composition II. or whatnot. so on. is this passing?

did i pass

Your post raises a couple of questions. First of all, there is no CLEP English Composition II exam. The current composition exams CLEP offers are College Composition and College Composition Modular.

If the exam you actually took was one of these, I do not believe you received a “raw” score. CLEP only releases “scaled” scores to testing candidates. Many universities go along with the American Council on Education’s recommendation that a “50” is the minimum score to receive passing credit. If you received a score of 43 and your university says you need a 50, you did not get a high enough score.

You will have to wait 6 months from the date of your exam before you can attempt this same test title again. If your university will allow a different CLEP exam for credit, you can take a different test title any time.

Nope. For my college, the cut-off point is always 50. You don’t seem too far off the mark though so you should probably review a little more and you’ll be all set.
