Rawlings

What is Rawlings hall like? Is it social or more of laid back and how close is it to the main activities on campus? Any experiences.

I was wondering the same thing? It is open for both Summer B and Fall. Since summer B students may not need to move if they live in Rawlings and room is available for fall selection that seems like a big plus. DS was thinking of Broward for fall but is now looking at Rawlings. Any feedback is appreciated! Thanks!

Broward is definetely the most social dorms. It definetely has the highest percentage of Greeks in anydorm and you will always find people hanging out in the lobby after a night of drinking and partying. Its right next to the Dining Facility and as they said close to the Library and classes. If you wanna study, you can study pretty much anywhere as long as you’re disciplined. It is not nice at all though, but hey, its college, so its not supossed to be. You get used to it.

Rawlings, where I live, compares in niceness to Broward and is right next to it. It is still fairly social, but not as social.

I would recommend one of these two, especially Broward, due to their location/social qualities

Dolphinfreak- I read that the co-ed floors at Rawlings are most social as there is a lounge between girls side and guys. Which floors are these? And which floor do you recommend to live on? Also did rawlings get the same upgrades as Broward a couple years ago? Wood floors is one I read about in Broward.

Thank you!!!

Rawlings is the most centrally located dorm for freshman at UF. I have heard that Jennings is the most social dorm but I assume it varies year to year.

What is a Rawlings QUAD and why is the rent more than a double/
Does anyone know?

I called the Broward area and spoke with an RA today…this is the info I gathered…

Rawlings second floor has a girl lounge and a boy lounge, Rawlings 3rd floor has a coed lounge, first floor is all male. fourth floor all girl.

Rawlings has the best shower stall to resident ratio…like 5 stalls in the bathroom while other dorms only have 3(or something like that)

Rawlings has the main bus stop and just had a Subway and Grab and Go put in

Some of Broward is getting renovated this Summer(like half of it, but she wasn’t sure which half)

Broward always has people hanging around in the lounge to socialize
