damn, i didn’t get into duke, i’m pretty sure that menas i wont get penn? their acceptance rates are so far apart (huntsman and duke), i think i’m screwed.

When it comes to applications, in the end, it's all a crapshoot. It's quite possible to get rejected from duke and get into huntsman, just like it's possible to roll a one on a dice followed by a six.

OP- i'm in the same situation as you...
and I applied to HYP. HA i feel like such a retard

this girl got waitlisted from duke and her sat scores, gpa, courseload etc. aren't that good.i have no idea what duke is up to

^My friend got into UCLA for engineering but not Duke.

Their admissions are weird this year.

I don't think you should take it as a negative sign that you didn't get into Duke. I was rejected yesterday as well, but I've been accepted to Stern so far and I really really hope to get accepted to Wharton and maybe some other Ivies today.

Let's keep hoping for the best!

I know someone waitlisted at Penn who got into Harvard and Princeton.

Jian Li (or whoever is suing Princeton) was rejected by Harvard, Princeton, and Penn (I'm guessing Wharton because he's a little prestige whore) and is sadly at Yale. It's too random at this stage in the game, so just hope for some acceptances.

Also, I heard that some kid was rejected everywhere, so he sent out letters to colleges saying that he has received more rejections than he can accept and that he rejects the rejection, and that he plans to see them next fall. I don't know if it appealed anything...

It's so random, too. I kind of feel like after a certain point, grades and scores don't even matter and it's how your essays strike the reader that you have. Honestly, Penn only wants so many 2400 6456.0 students who write boring papers.

I got waitlisted by Duke yesterday and by Penn just now.

^^so did I. This is getting weird.
