i recently got an email from them to apply to RC

can i apply to both RC and Honors?

Also, i sifted through their website briefly, and it seems that there are only 5 areas of concentrations. I am interested in doing a third (and maybe fourth language) but also am interested in majoring in philosophy.

can i do that as an RC student? and are ALL of RC's classes small? will it be the same professors who teach/lecture the normal LSA/honors classes?

proud08er, my son is a freshman in the RC this year. If I understand correctly, you are not limited to selecting an RC major but can major in any of the LSA majors. You take some of your classes in the RC (East Quadrangle) and can take others through LSA. In my son's case, all of his classes are in East Quad, as is his job. Good thing he likes it!

Other than the two year residency requirement another primary focus of the RC is the language proficiency requirement. He is taking 8 credits of Spanish this term. There are language tables at lunch (I think) for students to practice speaking. Once he passes his proficiency requirement, he will then take a readings/literature class. He has found the speaking element the most difficult. One teacher is from Spain and the other is from a South American country (sorry, I don't remember which one) so it is interesting for him to hear the different accents.
