RCSI launches Transatlantic Summer School

"Dublin, Ireland, January 21, 2020: RCSI (Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland) has launched a Transatlantic Summer School offering North American college students the opportunity to experience a sample of life as a graduate medical student in Ireland.

The two-week programme is aimed at students from the United States and Canada who are considering applying for the Graduate Entry Medicine (GEM) degree programme at RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences.

The summer school, which will take place at RCSI’s main Dublin city-centre campus and affiliated hospitals, will include academic and clinical activities including lectures and health-research workshops.

Attendees will have the opportunity to practice hands-on clinical skills at RCSI’s clinical simulation suite, which includes a mock-hospital ward and is the most advanced facility of its kind in Europe. Participants will also have the opportunity to work with doctors in simulated clinical skills workshops and interactive patient reviews. The programme also includes visits to RCSI-affiliated hospitals. …
