We (parents & daughter) are patiently waiting here in WA State. Any word as to when letters will begin being mailed out to RD students? Thx! :D

I think last year it was around March 19-23, so should be soon. :)

Eek! That is soon. I’m so nervous.

Letters, based on what occurred last year, will be mailed this Friday. They will probably begin reaching the West coast by Monday or Tuesday. Best of luck to everyone. I hope for a fat envelope as well. :)

Letters do not get mailed at the same time every year - they’re mailed when they’re done. They should be going out sometime in the next week, though.

Judging from the past several years, they usually mail them on a Friday, which means applicants in Minnesota find out on Saturday and everyone else has to wait until Monday or later. I think it takes even longer for international applicants - very frustrating!

Good luck to all the applicants!

And remember - big envelope = good news!

Thanks for the tip, All! Great advice. Like many students–D has applied to many schools (modern day version of “insurance?”) – but she really has a special place for this one. Best to all in the days ahead…!

So, do you think Carleton will mail them tomorrow or next Friday?

Based on past history, I would say that next week is more likely - it’s usually around the 23rd-25th.

According to a comment made on the Admissions Blog on the Carleton website (dated 3/18), the admissions office is targeting to have all letters in the mail by March 22nd (Tuesday).

Good luck to everyone! :)

So does this mean all will be sent on Tuesday, or can we infer some will be sent earlier and the last will be sent on Tuesday?

I just went back and checked the response on Carleton’s admissions blog. It would seem there is some sort of rumor that letters may already have been mailed. According to Jaime Anthony (an Assistant Dean) he is not aware of any letters having been mailed as of today. He says the earliest any letter “might” be mailed would be Monday. There is also a reminder to be careful of the source of information (college confidential).

Personally, I’m just pleased my son won’t have to wait until April 1st. I’m just passing along what I believe to be reliable (directly from Carleton) information. Hopefully, this may relieve some anxiety.

Sounds good. Where is this information located on their website?

It’s in the comments. :)

Won’t they post the decision online???

No, decisions are mailed.

I actually really like getting decisions by mail, even if it’s TERRIBLY nerve-racking (especially for those of us who live in far away states like Texas and have to wait for a long while). I think it’s classy. :D

I agree. I wish all my decisions came by mail.

Lol yea it can be really nerve-racking but it is also exciting. Btw i’m an international applicant from India so how long do you guys think it will take for me to receive my decision??
