Fairfield Admissions office just tweeted that Regular Decision students will be notified Saturday March 12th.
My son just received an email from Fairfield notifying him that he can check his deferred status on-line tomorrow at 9am.
I got the e-mail too. Actually got it twice. The first one was yesterday and the second one today.
Portals are updated. Accepted 3.7 gpa 2050 sat with $18,000/year
Waitlisted to the Dolan School of Business
Well my son was Waitlisted. Thankfully he applied to 13 schools and he has lot’s of other choices, although he really did like Fairfield. The likely hood of him being accepted after being waitlisted is extremely slim, as they state it can be anywhere from 10-100 applicants. Moving on!
D2 just got in with Bellarmine! I am so happy, D1 got in already EA with Magis! Feeling grateful and relieved.
@in7ite what were your stats if you don’t mind me asking? i am a junior and thinking about applying to dolan school of business
@BRMOM232 hi what were his stats? i am really considering applying to the school but I am worried
@Aash11 3.7 w gpa and 1860 SAT , many APs and honors classes, good ECs. I recommend applying early because I think that may have been part of the reason for me being waitlisted (applied RD right on deadline day lol). Of course my stats weren’t out of this world, either. However, I got accepted to Quinnipiac so its really hard to tell with colleges. Don’t worry and just apply!
My son was accepted to the Business School with at $25K scholarship!
4.0 WGPA (ranked 17th out of 108)
27 ACT
1930 SAT
5 APs, 3 SUPA (syracuse university classes) and 7 Honors classes.
Excellent ECs with many leadership positions.
@CP3rdTimeAround Is he going to FAIRFIELD ?
@Aash11 - We don’t know yet. We are still waiting to hear from Villanova (his top choice), BU, and Bingamton. We haven’t toured Fairfield, just drove through it. Of the schools he’s been accepted to, he likes Marist. So, it’s all still very fluid at the moment.
@Aash11 - Looks like my son will enter Marist in the fall. We visited Fairfield and he didn’t feel he was a good fit for the school. I thought they had a good business program there - pretty impressive. But I think he’ll be fine at Marist. And he hit it off well with a handful of current students he met there. With his scholarship, Fairfield would be less expensive for us by maybe about 3 or 4 thousand. But, I’m not going to send him somewhere he’s not comfortable to save 12 grand over the course of four years.
@CP3rdTimeAround CONGRATULATIONS to your son! Why did he feel like he did not fit in with? What did he not like about the school?
My son got accepted in the engineering program at Fairfield which he is excited about, however he is weighing his options with Rowan university. Rowan has a tremendous engineering program but when he applied to Rowan he applied as an accounting major just to get accepted into the school. He has a 4.0 and many AP classes, however he is a poor test taker. For engineering at Rowan he has to submit his SAT scores which he didn’t. So obviously they gave him no Merritt money and not into the engineering program - we are hoping he can transfer in. Fairfield offered 18k then financial aid help. So we are deciding now. Does anyone know what Fairfield engineering department is like? Thanks!
