oh really?
i was wondering about that…

did you apply to any cal poly scholarships?

oh really?

did you apply to any cal poly scholarships?

well.. it says that you just need the fafsa.. but then i thought some people did a separate app? i don’t know.. i sent them my fafsa and that’s it.

i applied to a lot of outside ones though.. so hopefully i’ll get at least one of those

uggggggghh. my fafsa sucks.

i’m pretty much screwed by the government on that one. blahh.

too bad obama isn’t president, college would be sooo much cheaper.

Seriously. Obama 08!

I will be so ticked if Hilary wins Texas or Ohio. Gahhh! She’s a terrible example for women. Feminists should be totally ashamed of her.

i agree!! ewww she’s horrible!!

how bad is your fafsa?!

OBAMAAAAAAAAAA!!! Anyone who’s seen my facebook/myspace knows that i am a proud Obama minion.

My FAFSA sucks too. It’s great being an average white middle-class girl from a nice area with two self-employed parents who make just enough to not qualify for anyyyyyything from the government, but not enough to pay full price for both Cal Poly and UC Santa Cruz for my sister. And on top of these expenses, we’re building a house out in Bodega Bay which has been my parents’ dream home so a few extra bucks would be nice to have.

</ end selfish rant>

The way admissions works is that once they start notifying people of a decision, they continue to notify people until the deadline (April 1st). So everyone could find out anytime between now and then. I think last year they had the deadline the same as this year.
For financial aid, when you submit the fafsa, you are automatically applying for all cal poly scholarships.

Are you sure Cal Poly does rolling admissions? I thought they notified everyone at once?

Yeah, I think you’re right. I thought it was like that last year, but guess not. I will edit my post as soon as the site lets me.

hahaha alicia, i am totally in the same situation!! the government’s idea of middle-class is definitely not the same as the average person’s. lol.

oh and so there isn’t rolling admissions?! so i should find out soon i am assuming?

i know what you mean.. i’m getting some money through fafsa, but definitely not enough! i got screwed over thanks to my parent’s orchard. the guy paid us this year for this past years and the year before.. so we’ve got an extra 10k added to our taxes.. lameeeee

my parents never spend their money and both my parents own properties in southern california that have skyrocketed since the time they bought them in the eighties. so that messes things up.

Well, I checked mycalpoly right now and it read:
Congratulations, you have been selected for admission to Cal Poly pending your meeting the following Terms and Conditions. Click on the link for further information.
Yay! Calpoly was a shoe-in for me, said my counselor.

wooo!! congrats mehhh!! what’s your major and stats?!

Major: Environmental Management and Protection
CSU GPA: 4.2
ACT: 26
I also have an internship with the Fish and Wildlife Service, which allowed me to check that box on the application that said “is your job related to your major?” (paraphrasing).

well that’s great!! are you going to attend poly or are you still looking at other schools?!

My top choice is Pitzer, which I won’t hear from until the end of this month. Still, I think poly is a viable candidate. haha.

Pitzer is a LAC.. right?! that’s great. hopefully you get in there!

and yes, gotta love poly! :)

uuhhh!!!?!
i’m so jealousss!
