Big priority mail envelope for DS from Bowdoin in the mailbox today! It was mailed out on March 9th. DS was not expecting to hear from Bowdoin until the end of the month, so this is wonderful news.

^CONGRATS! What region of the country are you from?

Nice! I got one too and the fin aid was actually better than expected! I’m from CT for others’ references. Was there a letter inviting your to “Bowdoin Experience” an all expense paid visit? I’m trying to see if this is a diversity/minority weekend thing or not.

and so it begins.

Just looked through the packet of info that DS received. He got an acceptance letter; not a likely letter. They letter stated that some kids were receiving early notification in order to have some extra time to consider Bowdoin.

As a parent, I am thrilled that Bowdoin is giving us a few extra weeks to think things over!

I got one too. It came in an enormous priority mail package; I have yet to read everything in it. They also wrote a nice little note about my essay.

I just received mine as well! Definitely a wonderful surprise to get it so early. I got a little essay note too.
If we are wondering about each others’ regions, I am from Montana.
Congrats to you all!

@Zambia123: I am rather certain the “Bowdoin Experience” it is a diversity weekend, since it is signed by the Coordinator of Multicultural Recruitment.

This is so depressing.

Yeah! I got one too! And they’re giving me $53k In financial aid!!! I also got the all expense bowdoin experience thing, and yeah, I think it’s a URM thing … So exciting!

Awh…sad I didn’t get anything yet. Hopefully those who haven’t heard still have a chance!

Don’t be. These early writes are selective, doesn’t mean you won’t get in.

That thing’s a minority weekend? Is 50/50 White/Indian an underrepresented minority at Bowdoin?

It feels so weird to be on this side of Affirmative Action.

From Missouri.

Ok, lol well I can’t turn an all expense paid trip! Especially since I’ve never been there before! But if don’t get a letter, don’t worry they said they’re still choosing people!!

WOW!! CONGRATULATIONS to all of you who have already received acceptance letter and ALL THE BEST to the rest.

By the way, I was just wondering, has any of the international applicants heard anything?

Congratulations, everyone! Bowdoin is an amazing school… Would those of you who were accepted early mind posting your stats so the rest of us can see how we stack up? :)

Also, would you guys mind posting where you’re from? I’m on the east coast and haven’t gotten anything… although that may just mean that I’m not getting an early write… heh XD
