RD Acceptance

Accepted and notified by email... I am an international by the way, so I doubt US applicants may be notified the same way..

Letter goes like:

Dear xxxxxx:

Congratulations! It gives me great pleasure to invite you to join the Emory University community as a member of the Emory College Class of 2010.

The Admission Committee reviewed thousands of applications during the selection process for next year’s first-year class, and among that group of strong students, you are a standout. Your academic record is an impressive match for Emory’s challenging learning environment. The College will benefit from your outlook and insight as much as you will benefit from Emory’s tradition of academic excellence and its dynamic and diverse community. I hope you will join us here.

In order to reserve your place in the Class of 2010, you must send a non-refundable deposit of $450 no later than May 1, 2006. (This deposit includes an orientation fee, a housing reservation fee, and a credit towards the first semester tuition.)

Go to <a href="http://www.emory.edu/ADMISSIONS/intlresponse/regular.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.emory.edu/ADMISSIONS/intlresponse/regular.html</a> and print out a copy of the Admission Response Card, Acceptance Agreement, and Financial Certificate. Please complete the Admission Response Card and Financial Certificate and return to the Admission Office. You must verify the amounts and sources of your educational funds in order for Emory to issue an I-20 form, which is required for your F-1 visa. This information must be completed prior to enrollment.

Carefully read the Acceptance Agreement that outlines the terms of your admission. Your admission is conditional pending receipt of your final secondary school transcript, documentation of graduation, and proof of funding. Be advised that the Admission Committee requires the same level of academic achievement and personal conduct through the completion of your current year. Failure to maintain this level of performance and schedule of courses could result in a withdrawal of our admission offer.

Later this spring you will receive information about orientation and academic advising from the Dean of Emory College. New student housing information will be sent in April. If we can assist you as you finalize your plans for the fall, please feel free to contact us!

Good luck with the rest of your year. I am happy to offer you a place among us, and I look forward to welcoming you to Emory next fall.
