Just got my acceptance today in Seattle!

^ Me too...also from Seattle!! They gave me a fabulous fin aid package. It's going to be a hard decision between Pomona and Wellesley!

another acceptance packet arrived late afternoon in Seattle! My son hasn't seen Pomona yet --we need to scramble and visit. It is important to him to overnight in a dorm.

omgplease, I got my acceptance package through Fedex last year. I did find out my results earlier through e-mail though.

i got in!! norcal today. and fantastic financial aid, no loans and everything is paid for for me!

anyone else staying overnight/going to admissions day? I think I'm staying 15-17th as well. Would it be alright staying multiple nights?

Congratulations! So it seems like Pomona is really generous with financial aid compared to its peers, doesn't it? The whole admissions packet just made me realize how much personal attention is going to be available at Pomona because of the small student body...the letter was 2 pages long, and personally signed too! Plus they even included a helpful financial aid package comparison worksheet!

yeah it was really weird I live in Socal and never interviewed ... I tried but they were totally full by the time I called ... but they still let me in

about flying home....i'm from tennessee, and i went home for thanksgiving and i'm going home for easter, too. a lot of my friends even from far up north like nyc went home for those times too, ontario is really close to pomona, so that helps out a lot, plus at least in my experience a lot of professors will work with you assignment/test-wise if you're gonna be gone. a lot of it just depends on whether you care about missing class or not...

my decision also came down between brown and pomona....sort of random, i know, considering they're so different. anyways, when i went to brown it was like cloudy, 55 degrees, a lot of kids were out in their bathing suits on the quad getting excited about "the best weather of the semester!" when i visited pomona, it was absolutely gorgeous, and everybody was just like "yea, this is normal." i just thought a place like brown seemed better for graduate school, plus i wanted to have a mixture of experiences, and so i just thought i'd go to the west coast for undergrad and the east coast for grad. also, it seemed like brown's students had extreme personalities in one direction or the other, but everybody at pomona seemed really nice and laid back. also, pomona just seemed like everything was more accessible. i know this probably sounds like a bad excuse, but i promise you you'll think yourself for being able to roll out of bed and walk 10 ft. to class rather than putting on 5 layers of thermal underwear and snow boots to trek half a mile to class. city wise, providence was sort of disappointing, apparently boston is a train ride away. yea, claremont's not the best, but they're expanding the village to cater more to college students. just by prospying at brown i felt really stressed out and overwhelmed, but everything ran like butter at pomona. i could go on and on, but i just felt like pomona was a better place for undergraduate (i esp, like the resources of the other 4-c's, though), but brown would be better for graduate once i got a better idea of what i was doing. plus, come on, would you rather go to school where the OC was filmed like an hour away or to the city where 'providence' was filmed. granted, i go to pomona, so i am biased, and i remember being in your situation. the best way to figure out is to visit both.

Just for reference, I definitely am planning to enroll, as I have been rejected from Harvard, Stanford, Berkeley, and Swarthmore. I was wait-listed at Amherst, Washington U., and Yale, and accepted into only the University of Michigan and Tulane in addition to Pomona. I am not staying at home and going to Michigan. I'm still holding out hope for Yale, though.

Also, I missed the deadline for the interview as well.
