My d received her acceptance letter today from Bennington, along with a nice, partial scholarship! Good luck to others who may be waiting!

Yay! I’m in Southern California as well… waiting…
knowing someone from CA got in yesterday gives me hope that the letters will come sooner than I expected.
If i may ask, what was the finanical aid package you recieved?

I heard that they are mailing letters throughout the month of march. One of my friends got his letter last week and another is still waiting.

It was a small, partial amount for the scholarship (less than 50%). But it was a nice surprise nevertheless.

I’m in! It’s funny actually, I have yet to receive an acceptance letter or email but when I logged into my Bennington financial aid account, I saw that they were offering me a huge grant ($14,000 per semester), obviously in accordance with my acceptance. So excited!!

hmmm no FA awards on my account yet. Bad sign? Congrats to the admitted

Ah I feel so behind the curve. Waiting on transfer admission status feels twice as torturous :p

I got my letter yesterday. It was so nice because there was a personal note about my essay attached
However, with only the Brockway scholarship I can’t afford it :(

hmmmm…stilll don’t have anything from them…that’s wierd

I got my acceptance letter today! No financial aid information was included though, so I’m a little concerned about whether or not I will be able to afford it.

I got in with the Brockway as well, and some loans I think…too expensive :(

In as well, but no financial aid information yet…I was also accepted with a major scholarship at Sarah Lawrence, which was my first choice anyhow, so its no big deal.

i can still see my documents tab… dunno what it means

Any idea on how are the internationals notified of the decision (e-mail, regular mail, FedEx)?

Nothing in my mailbox yet either…Im so curious about the decision. The interview was just so interesting and really made me wanna go to Bennington.

Just got the email…waitlisted. Gosh my EFC really thwarts my way to college. I will ask my family again if we can somehow raise it.

Actually, it’s not your EFC. I have an EFC of about 1500 dollars, they gave me full (or darn close to it) financial aid. Actually, if you have a really low EFC it’s better because then colleges like Bennington can say that they are more diverse. So really, don’t try that it’ll weaken your chances at other universities. It wasn’t your EFC, it must have been something else, what are your stats? Here’s mine, and I got accepted.

GPA: 3.0 (But I have an excuse, I’m an orphan whose mom died while I was in high school)
SAT by subject: Writing: 620 Reading: 660 Math: 570
A.P. Classes: Language and Composition, U.S. History, Literature and Composition, and A.P. Psychology
After School Activities: Drama Club (4), Debate & Speech team/ President and Treasurer (4), Voices Comitted to Change Students Promoting Rights in Relationships (2), Big Brothers Big Sisters (4), Journalism Club (1)
They LOVED my essay, my interviewer told me, and I included some other writing samples of mine. My interview went mildly well. But, they gave me all of the aid I needed, so…

The big difference between you and me is: I am an international student. And almost every College/University in the states has a different fin Aid pool for federal students and Internationals, so money is really an issue (Bennington was the first college which honestly stated that in their decision letter and their honesty makes me want to go there even more.)

My stats are quite similar to yours: SAT CR: 650/W:590/M:720
I have german abitur, so no direct comparison of GPA here.
Im into Drama/Theatre and Film too - that is probably my hook besides I am German and first gen student.

My financial aid has yet to be posted
Actually, the page is really weird-the apply now tab is still there, and pretty much nothing else, even though i def. filled it out already and they notified me that they had gotten it.

Has this happenned to anybody else?

@DerDeutscheMann:
my situation is the same as yours. i am an international with huge need and i also got waitlisted. actually i got waitlisted from 8 colleges.
