Last year RD acceptance letters began to be received on Sat., March 21st. Anyone handicapping today as the day this year's acceptances begin to arrive?

I'm borrowing this from cate27's post last year --

Let's make it a little easier to read by making ACCEPTED green, REJECTED red, and WAITLIST yellow. Do this by by putting Red, Yellow, or Green in where the word "Red" is right now in the first line.

Going to attend? Possibly, if I don’t like WUSTL and Yale/Princeton fall through :)

I was hoping the same thing, jdalu75, but the announcement on the Undergraduate Admissions webpage hasn’t changed, and the current statement says that they will post there when they have mailed notification letters.

[*] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Pretty competitive applicant I guess, and I’m a URM, which W&M apparently desperately needs[/ul]General Comments: Good Luck!!

Our D is a Monroe scholar and she got full tuition+ OOS. It seems to vary greatly. We were expecting nothing after following W&M posts from previous years. We let her apply because she loves W&M, knowing it would probably not be possible, even if admitted. Both the admit/Monroe and the $$$ were nice surprises.

I don’t really understand how all of the financial aid works. Seems to be a deep, dark secret at some places and more predictable at others. The best advice we got was to have her apply even to places that are questionable if she really is interested, don’t get your heart set on any one spot and then wait and see. (“Cast a wide net”.)

Apparently, I tend to be overly cautious admissions-wise and financially. With such a huge class of 2010 graduating, having a daughter (especially at LACs and places like W&M this is a distinct disadvantage) and D wanting to go to grad school…so limited debt load, it has been a challenge. However, my overly optimistic husband keeps reminding me that she is doing much better than projected. Then again, our D has a lot of ‘intangibles’ so she is a tough one to make predictions on because she is interesting, but unlike so many posters here, very far from perfect.

I guess this ramble boils down to the importance of doing your research and keeping the faith. You never know until it’s over!

Most decisions will not be mailed until April 1 or a few days prior to that. Only a select group of applicants (namely scholarship recipients) have received notification thus far.
