Rd admissions

'anyone hear from ND that applied RD?

Decisions come out in about a month

April 1st they go in the mail. AHHHH!

they're not sent earlier?!? we find out AFTER?? do we get an email at least?

As far as I can tell, no email, and the letter we got said dont call unless you haven't heard by April 10th. Not the most up to date notification system we've run across.

nope there is no email and when you get it determines on how fast the mail get there from Notre Dame, IN

surely it gets sent out last week of march then?

no if they say they will send it april 1st it will be postmarked april 1st.

I am not sure the admissions team actually states anywhere decisions will be sent on April 1, or am I wrong? Last year decisions started appearing in mailboxes on March 29 (for those who lived closer to ND) as evidenced by posts in this forum. I think other years were similar, if you check back in the archives. But yes, west coast students will generally get their acceptances or denials a few days later compared to those who live in the midwest and east.

"When will I hear my decision?

Decision letters will be mailed in early April. If you do not receive anything by April 10, you can contact our office at 574-631-7505."

^^^Directly from the ND admissions website.

But wouldn't it be nice to hear a little early? Oh I wish.

my kid/young adult received word on admission ( positive ) today, 030409. also an invitation to an expenses paid travel weekend at the school in april, and an invitation to consider some sort of honors program which perhaps has to do with that weekend ?? the application was submitted at the normal-regular application deadline.

WHAT?!?! Was this a typical package in the mail or some other sort of circumstances/way of notification?

so which type of cancer did your kid cure?

it appears another poster received the same thing in a nearby thread. reading it a bit more i believe it goes out to 100 - 150 of the applicants with strong admission "numbers"/essays/whatever/etc. it came snailmail - no e-mail.

@bitti1...can you tell us more about the letter?...what was written in it exactly?...any idea if internationals would get it too? and congrats to your son/daughter!

red-m

it would seem that intl's would get the letter if they are chosen - there does not appear to be anything that would indicate otherwise. there were actually 2 letters ( along with a pile of other stuff ). one being an invitation to the weekend i mentioned, and the other reflecting this "glynn family" honors track that the school offers. as the poster in the other thread mentioned, it is somewhat amusing in that the materials do not actually say " you're in " per se. however, in other sections of the letter they make reference to this offer being extended to the top 100 or so of the predicted 2000 accepted applicants so technically i suppose you could say we are surmising the "acceptance" part. :) the remainder of the letters are flattering/congratulatory stuff about the applicant's acheivement's, and things concerning the school's interest in meeting them, and finally the specifics of the honor's track nature which will explained further at the weekend visit.

thanks for letting us know bitti1...:)

i think i got a likely letter in february...it said..."we are very impressed with your credentials"..."we are interested in you"...did you get anything like that?

D recruited athlete has a verbal acceptance from coaches & an e-mail forwarded through high school admin counselor from Mr Saricino. He wrote that her letter will be mailed March 26....

no, nothing like that in february.

this is all quite specific, with travel contacts, a detailed hour-by-hour itinerary, confirmation due-dates for travel and reservations in the very near future, and step by step directions on things to do/contact to make it all so.

red_mercury. that was likely for financial aid purposes. see the similar thread about a "likely letter"
