GPA: 3.94 unweighted. A (A-, A, or A+) in everything:

School: difficult, private, small (365 students in 9-12)
Location: North Shore of Chicago; lots of applicants to selective schools.

Extracurriculars: Not bad at all, but middle of the road for schools like Tufts. President of a club, captain of varsity team, 7 varsity letters, bassist, school band, anonymous editor of satirical newspaper, long-distance runner.

Essays: Not bad, but not perfect.

Reccomendations: Probably pretty good, but I didn't read any of them.

Interview: not too good.

Intangibles: white, Christian-background male, both parents went to college, upper-middle class.

We don't have too many 1600s that matriculate here, though they do exist if you look hard enough. If you expressed a great deal of interest in Tufts, I'm pretty sure they'll accept you. If you didn't...well then I'd say your chances look just like those of everyone else - unpredictable.

If you are applying to HYP and other top 10 schools you are probably going to be rejected cause you are going to get in somewher in top 10

That's not always true. I don't remember the % of 1600s accepted, but it wasn't low by any means.

I know Tufts is my reach...any insight on just how far I'm reaching?
