Does anyone know whether or not the scholarship applies to what financial aid doesn’t cover? I read the details pertaining to the scholarship, but that didn’t seem entirely clear.

I guess early acceptances = Honors programs/merit aid/ dean’s scholarship?
seems like everyone got in this early got into honors program and some hefty aid?

As far as I could tell, the scholarship is just a scholarship and is completely separate from your financial aid. The only exception is if the scholarship AND your financial aid exceeds the price of attendance, in which case they lower one or the other (I think the scholarship).

I just got my e-mail today, I’m so excited, it hasn’t even soaked in yet. I’m really glad I made honors.

How does Northeastern Honors compare to other schools in the northeast? Can someone give me an equivalent academics-wise please :)?

^^ I got tons of mails like that. It’s kind of funny in a way, so I didn’t block them but let them come. One school’s extended my deadline to MARCH, not February, but MARCH 1st. How desperate is that? They keep sending me mails: "Dear …, Unfortunately we didn’t receive your application. We have now extended your deadline to give you another opportunity to apply… bla bla bla :D

Re: scholarships- sorry, but I’m pretty sure that NU does consider merit $$ in the full financial aid package. My D got an Excellence scholaship which they again congratulated her on in her FA package. The rest was loans. There is a thread on CC talks about this that is very helpful, but I think you will find this is the pattern. :(

Accepted honors program and trustee scholarship!!! That’s basically a full ride, and it’s awesome taking into consideration that I’m an international and fin aid is crucial to me :D

Yeah, it seems like some RD people already got their acceptances, and they all have dean’s scholarship, honors program, etc, so I was wondering if that’s it.
