I read that RD at UMD is basically a crapshoot and a majority of the applicants were accepted EA. UMD isn’t my top choice but I was definitely gonna consider it more if accepted. My scores are in the 75th percentile but should I be expecting a rejection because I applied regular and not early?
i was also thinking this. anyone got any idea?
while not impossible, i’ve heard it is quite difficult for people to get into umd who apply for regular decision. i once got an email from an admissions counselor that said they accept 90% of their transfer students through priority.
That’s pretty discouraging if true. So I guess we shouldn’t be waiting with bated breath?
@a20171 I don’t know where people are hearing this nonsense, but this is the third comment I’ve seen like this. Who is telling you this? There is only a slightly better chance at admission to UMD with priority decision application, just like with any college. A 10-15% better chance at most. And even still, what really matters is your credentials. When you apply matters very little to whether you will be accepted or not, and someone who’s telling you this may just be making excuses for themselves or someone they know who didn’t get in.
I got accepted and according to my online status, they did not receive my teacher recs.
@areyouahuman im sure they did. They just didn’t update it in the system
