Waitlisted. But I’m definitely ok with that because it’s better than a rejection and I’ve already been accepted to MoHo and Smith. :)

doesn’t give me access to anything? idk. maybe they’ll negotiate. I got a bunch of money from a comparable school.

D in w/ some merit. Likely not enough though, unfortunately. Hope I don’t sound ungrateful because any merit is greatly appreciated and BM is an amazing school. Tough decisions ahead.

Our daughter in with some merit as well. So many decisions!

In : good luck to everyone.

Can those accepted and offered Merit let us know your stats and what was offered. Merit only, not need based. Thanks to anyone who responds. trying to get an idea of merit at Bryn Mawr. Trying to help a two high school girls get an idea of what this school offers.

Surprisingly waitlisted with a 4.0 GPA and 35 ACT - not mad though because I’m going to Wellesley! :)

yaaay I’m in with merit! I’m so excited I think this is my top choice school!

@goingnutsmom sure, ok so I had a 31 on the ACT and my school has a wacky weighted gpa based on the 4.0 scale and my gpa was 4.02 or something (I don’t exactly remember). I was pretty involved back in my high school back home, but my mid-year grades were pretty mediocre because I’m currently an exchange student in a school where the classes aren’t taught in English.

im so confused lol

Can those accepted with merit PLEASE state the amount they received? ($ per year)

D was waitlisted, but got in at Wellesley with a decent package.

i am suprised with the number of applicants who state they were wait listed at bryn mawr but were accepted at wellesley. my d applied early decision at wellesley and was deferred to the regular decision pool. she applied ed2 at bryn mawr and was accepted. all sister schools seem to be exceptional liberal arts colleges. however am i wrong in thinking wellesley traditionally is the more difficult school to gain entry?

Wellesley’s admission rate is about half of Bryn Mawr’s. I guess they just want different things in applicants? Idk.

Wellesley’s acceptance rate isn’t half of Bryn Mawr’s. There’s about a 10 point difference, but not half. It’s important to consider the applicant pools - just because you have more applicants applying for a set number of spots, doesn’t mean every applicant is qualified. In this way, it’s more important to look at applicant stats versus strictly percentages.

Waitlisted… Do anyone know how possible I could get in from the wait list? Bryn Mawr is my top choice!!! Do you guys have any suggestions on what I should do in this waiting time??? Thx =)

DD in, no merit alas though we do qualify for grants, also alas SAT 2140, 3.8ish GPA unweighted, club president since sophomore year, published writer, and she is a legacy. Anassa kata! Admission letter said that it was a record year for apps?

For those who want figures. My daughter was accepted into Bryn Mawr with $8500 merit. SAT score, 2160, ACT 32, GPA 3.5 unweighted. She has taken for the most part IB and AP classes and her only extracurriculars are lots of volunteer work and drama classes and productions. Crucially she had an interview, which seemed to go well. She was accepted into Smith with no merit and Mount Holyoke with $15,000 per year merit. She was rejected from Kenyon and Wellesley. To those who are despondent about being weight-listed, you are still in with a chance. For example my daughter will turn down places at Smith and Mount Holyoke, which will free up those places for someone else.

@didot42 My D is in a similar position. Same scholarship to Bryn Mawr, accepted at Smith with no merit and wait listed at Wellesley. She received 15k from Simmons and was invited to the honors program. That in combination with city life is weighing heavily in Simmons favor. I too was impressed with the Simmons program. It is an entirely different focus and vibe when compared to BM.

Accepted ED2–was hoping for merit, but got grants instead
Stats: 30 ACT, 2080 SAT, 9 AP classes total, 3.7ish unweighted, 4.01 weighted, student government, recruited athlete, lots of volunteer work. somewhat high acceptance rate, but self-selecting pool of applicants and BMC is very small.

Has anyone been accepted off the waitlist?
