RD Bryn Mawr!

@keya93 @bluecholeric
best of luck to us. :D

accepted!! :smiley: Congrats everyone!! and best of luck to those who were waitlisted! Can’t wait!

accepted with merit!
I was so happy I was practically dancing in my school library. I’m a full pay student so this would make it a little more than in-state University of California! I’m so happy!!

Hey uniquely, fancy seeing you here <3

Daughter is in! Not great aid though. Still, we’re all very excited. Hard decisions ahead!

Congratulations to all the admitted students! As a current BMC student, I’m so excited to welcome you all! It’s great to see so many students talking so enthusiastically about their admission decisions. We’re all very excited to meet a new class of BMC women!

I would like to encourage you to please discuss financial information confidentially with our financial aid representatives (you can call the Financial Services Office at 610-526-5245 and ask to speak with one of them) rather than discussing it publicly.

I hope you’ll all get a chance to visit campus! Please feel welcome to continue posting questions about the school/various majors/student life etc. here (there are always a few of us current students roaming the boards!)

So excited and proud to be a part of BMC’s class of 2017! Does anyone know of the best website to order Bryn Mawr gear from (like t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc.)? Can’t wait to start representing BMC around my high school.

hey zizies, you can order stuff directly from Bryn Mawr here: [Bryn Mawr College Bookstore : Shop the Bryn Mawr College Bookstore For New & Used Textbooks, Rent Textbooks, Digital Textbooks, Apparel, Gifts & Supplies](efollett)

Accepted! I love Bryn Mawr but I think the financial aid might be unworkable :confused: Grinnell gave me much better financial aid

My application is still incomplete (college transcripts and one of teacher recommendations) even though I have sent in all the materials ages ago. My financial aid package is complete. I wish I got my decision too. But I don’t think I will. Anyway, congrats to all of you who got accepted! :)

Bryn Mawr isn’t need-blind!

I’m applying to Bryn Mawr this fall - can anyone who got accepted/rejected tell me what their stats were, and any other factors that may have been used in their decision?

@Marinozai

I was waitlisted and eventually rejected :smiley: but tell you what. Work on your essays and ECs. I had really low scores 1930 SAT 660 670 Subjects 3.7 GPA and 108 TOEFL
I’m international
and I was rejected because of need
and wait listed because of amazing essays I wrote

well at least I assume so

Essays and recommendations matter a LOT for BMC
SAT scores… well they could help but not that much

Thanks so much for telling me, @Bluecholeric.

I don’t really know what to do yet for the essays, but I am a good writer, so anything I come up with will be written cohesively in the least. Topic-wise…I need to think haha. SATs, I have a 2040 superscore - I know that Bryn Mawr superscores. It was M 630 CR 640 W 770. I have great extra curriculars and all that shabang. My GPA…not sure, but unweighted it’s like 3.8-9, and weighted is 4.something.

The thing I’m worried about - I was out of school during sophomore year and part of junior year for an intense health reason. It was not my fault at all. I had to do online classes. I returned to school in December of my junior year, and did very well settling in - took APs, got mostly As except for one B, etc. But I did have a smaller courseload during junior year because of this.

Senior year will be normal - full courseload, 3 AP classes, I expect to do well, etc.

What do you think?

Hey Marinozai,

I also had to take some time off in high school due to health reasons, but Bryn Mawr was very accommodating and understanding. This is a great opportunity for your guidance counselor to explain and elaborate on your circumstances in the letter they write for your common app. You could also mention this in your interview to clear up anything in your application.

Best of luck to you!

englishivy,

Thanks so much for telling me - you are the second Mawrter who has told me that they had unconventional situations in high school. I visited this Tuesday and absolutely loved it! I interviewed and told the admissions officer, and she was very understanding. My interview went very well. However, since then I’ve been reading all sorts of things about how the interview doesn’t really matter. Also, the woman who interviewed me was not assigned to my region.

Marinozai,

I’m happy to hear your interview went well. At smaller colleges the interview is definitely important – albeit not as critical as other things like course history, but still reviewed and considered! Just because your interviewer was not from your region doesn’t mean the representative from your region won’t become aware of you. It all becomes part of your file to be considered. Don’t fret and good luck!

@mattieR I feel the same way :frowning:
