Did you apply anywhere ED? Which combined med programs are you applying to? What are your safeties?

As an unhooked Asian applicant, you are applying from an over-represented state. Your scores and grades are top notch. Yours ECs look good for the combined med programs. However I doubt that they will stand out enough for Brown, Penn and JHU. The Vagelos program tends to take students who show some potential in business/biotechnology.

I didn’t apply ED anywhere. I am applying to Penn State, Temple, Drexel, Drew, Case Western, Hofstra, VCU, UPitt, Howard, Brown and RPI for combined medical programs. My safeties are Rutgers and UMass-Amherst. My other reach schools are Duke, UNC-chapel hill, and Johns Hopkins.@sgopal2 Is there anything I could do to stand out in the application process?

You will certainly get in somewhere. The list of schools is broad and deep. I think you’ll probably get into several of the combined med programs.

There is very little you can do at this stage to make yourself stand out apart from your essays. Give some deep thought on what you can write about that makes you different from the thousands who will have similar applications.

Update Everyone on my Reaches!

JHU: Accepted as Bio Major (Rejected BME)
Duke: Rejected
Princeton: Rejected
UPenn: Waitlisted (College of Arts and Sciences)
