I've read quite a number of threads about ED chances but not as many about RD chances. I'm not sure if I want to go for ED, so would someone plz give me some comments on whether I stand a chance for RD? Any comment would be very much appreciated. Feel free to shatter my dream if u think i'm not qualified for RD. Thanks ^_^ BTW Concerning the RD, is it going to be a lot harder than ED?

I'm a female Chinese citizen currently residending in Eastern Canada. (I'm applying for Canadian citizenship right now and there's a chance that I'll get my Canadian citizenship some time between Jan and April. So should I apply as a Chinese citizen or a Canadian citizen? Does anyone have any idea?)

My school is fairly competitive with many grads going to the Ivies every year. We have an extremely large number of students applying for Ivies this year in particular and most of them are really competitive. Sadly, I'm pretty average comparing to them.

Our school has IB program with about 100 ppl in the graduating class. We do not have any rankings but I think I'm somewhere around the top 10%, or perhaps very close to the top 10%. Besides the IBers, our school also has ppl graduating through the regular program. And among all 500 or so ppl graduating this year (including the IBers), I think I'm somewhere around the top 5%.
(Sorry I have so many questions, but when I apply for universities which ranking do they look at? The ranking in IB graduating class or the ranking in my school graduating class including both regular and IB? Thanks)

My school's method to calculate GPA is sorta weird. My current GPA (UW) is ~3.67 and my grades tend to fluctuate a lot. For example last year I got GPA 3.5 for the 1st term and 3.75 for the 2nd term, and the difference between my average percentages for the 2 terms is about 3%. (85% and 88% ) I know my school mark is pretty low but I hope that they will take into account the fact that IB courses give low marks.

Generally my mark is on a upward curve so I guess it might help a bit. It is also why I want to go for RD.

I've taken SAT I in January and planning to retake it in December. The mark I got in January is:
780 Math
680 Reading
650 Writing

2110 Total

From the practice tests I've been doing these few days I'm now at a level of
800 Math
700 Reading
720 Writing
So hopefully by December I'll get 2200+, probably 2250(?)

I've taken 1 SATII in math IIC and got 800. Planning to take Chemistry in November. From my practices I anticipate a score of 750+.

I'm probably going to take SAT II Bio in Jan as well in case my chem mark did not turn out well or in case I wanna apply for those universities that require 3. Not sure what I'll get on Bio.

The IB marks anticipated on a scale of 7:
English A1 HL 6
Math HL 6
Chemistry SL 7
Biology HL 6
Mandarin A2 SL 7
History SL 6
Theory of Knowledge + Extended Essay 2(out of 3)
These add up to 40/45, which is a fairly decent score but not one that's very outstanding.

2 x top 5% for AMC 12
top 25% for Pascal, Cayley, and Fermat (all math contests)
1st place (regional) in Math Challenge Contest (team)
2nd place in a piano competition (regional)

Other:
Grade 10 piano (RCM level)

Rec:
average recommendation letters. The problem with me is that the teachers who really like me are either my past teacher (in grade 9/10) or teachers teaching art & music. Since I don't really stand out in my major courses (bio, math, etc.) I only anticipate ok recommendation letters. Probably won't be too helpful for my recommendation.

Essay:
I'm an OK writer. I will try my best with the essays, but pure hardwork won't turn my OK essays into astonishingly amazing essays. Afterall, everyone else is trying with all they've got.

I know that I've written a lot. Please please please give me some comment on my chances. I'm going through this college app paranoia and feeling lost right now. Sometimes I feel that I stand a fairly good chance and some other times I feel that there's no hope for me at all. ToT
