Legacy: yes

...so not a good test taker at all....how much does this weigh into the process?

I was accepted to Carroll, and in my opinion essays are very important in the admissions process to BC.

For the essay, I wrote about overcoming an impediment and how my life has since been changed and how I tackle new challenges with the same confidence that i had when i overcame the impediment.

One of my recommendations was about my "conservative values" (not sure if that will hurt haha), and the other was very good (by my liberal lit teacher) and unlike the first one, there wasn't a central theme.

oh btw, I was deferred from BC early action if that helps...

If I were you I'd tell BC that they are still your first choice (If their not then don't) and call the admissions office and ask them if you could submit additional materials, if yes try to redo your essays, your SAT's are within their 25-75 percentile, But just like all top school admissions, it can be very trivial. Good luck, im actually appealing bieng deferred from my top choice school myself

Alright, thanks a ton!

anytime, good luck

im a senior in virginia and i too am applying to Boston college, its actually my first choice, how much of the ethnicity factor do they consider? I am of latin american decent . I have a 3.5 GPA there are over 800 students in my grade, i take IB and AP classes , but i still have my fingers crossed do u think i have any chance?

depends on your SAT/class rank/extracurriculars/community service/essay
