There is no way you are getting rejected.

krrrrikey.

it's people like you who leave me wondering how the hell i ever got into TASP.

i think your chances are excellent, by the way.

Holy cow, this is depressing for me lol. You have REALLY good stats man, good thing you are in the RD and not in the EA pool with the rest of us here lol. Though, then again, most of us are going to get deferred, then get the floor wiped with us by applicants like you.

Sorry about that, but I don't see how you couldn't get into at least one of the HYP schools. I mean, they've rejected crazy good people before, but not all three at once. Great work!

I love how you beasted all reading/writing SATs, got into TASP, and are the editor of the newspaper, yet only wrote "decent" essays (next to your statement about "glowing" recs). You should be WAY more confident than you are. You don't need to make a stats thread at all.

If you still have the chance, that 690 Writing is the only thing that's not absolutely perfect, and judging from the rest of the stuff you've done, you should be smart enough to get a much better score with a second sitting.

If you don't get around to it, don't worry, you're gonna get in anyway.

thanks for the compliments but I believe that learning humility is one of the greatest lessons in life. However, I'm still concerned regarding the lack of focus in my ECs. For example, my SAT writing is not up the par with my other scores; however, I'm editor, got into tasp, and got a writing award (things one has to be a good writer in). There seems to be a clash or controversy here especially with my having taken the psats a few months earlier and doing well in writing.
It just seems that I had breadth in ECs, but not necessarily the depth.

I wouldn't worry so much about the writing score on the SAT. I can't remember what Yale said about it, but many schools aren't even looking at the writing scores because they really don't know how to judge them yet. And if your essays are killer and you have other writing kudos, they'll overlook that SAT score.

I'm kind of in the same boat being a good writer but never getting good SAT writing scores. I have gotten 11/12 on SAT and 12/12 on ACT, and still can only get a 660. And I also got an honorable mention (top 25) for a national essay competition, and I was one of only two people in my AP Lit class to ever write a 9 essay (my teacher graded them pretty tough). I mean, I'm not super great or anything, but the MC score and my essay score are on opposite ends.

unless hell freezes over, you're in

wow. wow. you are the kind of person for whom a 690 in writing wouldn't matter. Yale would be very lucky to have you in their class of 2011. Where else are you applying?

Where are you applying early? I hope to God you get into somewhere else early so I won't have to compete with you :D Best of luck though you don't need it.

lol Class Government under Social Sciences

They play water polo in OHIO :/

Cali owns ohio (or any state for that matter) :P

BTW, great chances. Are you applying anywhere early? And what is your race?
