i think u have a good chance

I'm so sorry about your knee injury!!!!! You would have made an awesome recruit, although I'm sure that you already knew that. I hope that it heals and that maybe you eventually will be involved in athletics again.

I think that you have a great chance and personally, the Board of Education Rep thing sounds really really cool. You're right to emphasize that as I am sure that it is a pretty responsible position. From looking at your information, I guess that I would really emphasize environmental activism, given your 2 "political" activities (Board of Ed. position and JSA position) + the environmental stuff (environmental engineering and wilderness trail ECs). This will especially help you since you are applying to CALS. Oh and you might want to talk about the ski club thing, you love the outdoors, etc. Just show that you are a perfect fit at CALS.

You mentioned that you have an interest in filmmaking and used it in an essay though? If you feel that this makes you a better fit at CALS, then I guess go with it but I think that you should also emphasize the other stuff a lot.

All in all, I think that you have a good shot. I would definitely interview at Cornell with someone in admissions too, they could put in a good word for you. More so than an alumnus interviewer.

Good luck.
