write good essays, and you'll be fine

thanks =)
anymore comments would be appreciated.

I'll have to second nngmm. It looks like you've taken a lot of initiative as well as excelled in what you've done - congrats. I hope your essays will reflect who you are... and if you're truly a driven, passionate person, you should be fine =]

From what I have known of Stanford, I think you have a good chance.

And, everyone seems to be emphasizing on good essays. My brother, whos in Stanford told me that they don't take essays seriously unless its bad enough to be thrown in the dustbin. any thoughts??

Essays can't "get you in" - you have to have the stats. But they can help you to "stand out from the crowd", and emphasize the achievements/activities that make you unique.

There are 20,000 applicants, and probably at least 15,000 of them have the stats good enough to be considered. A couple of hundred might have achievements significant enough, that their essays don't matter. How do you think the rest of the class is selected? (And no, it's not random, even if it seems so based on the stats alone...)

haha thanks for the input.
yeah everyone has always told me to concentrate on the essays
no matter how good/bad your scores are.

anymore input?

wow, I'd say you have a very good shot at getting in.

good luck!

aw thanks!

very good shot. im jealous :p
