please anyone =(

SAT is really low. M + CR needs to be > 1400 to even be seriously in the NU conversation. Your rank is good, which keeps you from being an auto-reject. Forensics is a plus, since NU has a speech team, which is very rare among the nation's top universities. If you would consider joining NU's speech team, then see if you can contact the coach, Dr. Ric Roe, and ask him about the team and if he could leave a note in your application's file.
If you don't have great LoRs and essays, I don't see your chances being very good.

SAT is kind of low, but it doesn't knock you out of anything. You are kind of like I was, I took all the hardest classes during high school (11AP's) and I think that paid off in terms of getting into NU. I had higher scores (33 on ACT), but I think there are more important things than a couple of numbers. I agree that debate is a good thing to talk about, also you're from OK, I think that's a sort of under-represented state, so there maybe be less people who apply there, less competition? Maybe my logic is flawed, but I would say that you have a fair chance.

I e mailed the debate coach. Do u think this will help if i am able to get him to leave an application note?

Write some good essays. NU doesn't superscore.

i got into cornell CAS yesterday. no essay writing for me =)

What exactly is a speech team? I have been debating intensively for 2-3 years now and would like to pursue it in college too.... How do I contact the debating coach? Any ideas!

There's a difference between Speech Team (forensics: DI, prose, extemp, impromptu, etc.) and Debate Team (policy debate). Speech is more laid-back, there is no recruitment and no scholarships are offered, so membership is optional. The Speech coach is Dr. Ric Roe, find his contact info online.
The Debate Team is one the undisputed best team in the nation, winning 6 of the last 9 national titles (or some other ridiculous statistic). Some people are recruited, scholarships are offered, which are based on team membership. The coach is Scott DEATHerage (I may have butchered the spelling). Dr. Death is a tall bald man with icy blue eyes. Rumor has it that he once turned a kid from Harvard into a pillar of salt....

Oh! Lol... Thanks anyway!
