Chances? This is the second-safest school on my list (after UW-Madison) but I also really like it…

Why are you even asking if you consider BC a safety?

Mate, they should pay you to go to their school.

I said it was the second safest school on my list. I did not say it was my safety. I do not consider myself an automatic admit in any way. I recognize that it isn’t easy to get into BC - however, the other schools I applied to are top LAC like Amherst/Middlebury and the Ivies, which are tougher to get into than BC.

Wouldn’t you think that someone as bright as you would be able to chance your own admission considering all the positives of your application?

To make this post constructive - great chance.

Yeah, I’m just looking for reassurance I guess. I got deferred ED from my first choice school (Williams) so that demolished my confidence.

Dear Drought : My oldest, now a junior, faced the final decision between four schools : Williams, Boston College, Georgetown, and Cornell - and ultimately chose Boston College. The Williams College campus is the total opposite on many levels from Boston College - both are exceptional, both have very unique niche aspects in their handling the student body. From a Williams perspective, your GPA is not sufficiently solid at 3.7 to grab one of their spots in the 2200 person campus.

For Boston College, your numbers are fine, but your essays/recommendations will be more closely scrutinized than they were at Williams. Again, different schools, different foci. Good luck in your pursuit of Boston College - please take some time to think about how you will ultimately decide between these two schools.
