Would anybody know when Pitzer is announcing its admission decisions?
Is it by mail or online?
Does anyone know what the admission packet looks like if its by snail mail?

By looking at previous year threads, it seems some received phone calls, others email, and yet others snail mails. Perhaps calling the admissions office would be a good idea!

^^ Well before calling them I'll see if any CCers have the answer..
anybody know? Help a french student out...

mailed today by snail mail.

^ How do you know? That means I'll get mine tomorrow!

The admissions blog reveals all haha:

Admission Unpeeled

Oh man, this is so exciting and nerve-racking at the same time!

I am so unbelievebly scared. Once again, the admit rate went down. GAHHHH!

Erdnase: thank you for the link! Very interesting. I love Pitzer's community feel and I can't believe their 20 percent acceptance rate.

Good luck to all!

WAITLISTED! I was hoping for an acceptance... CMC waitlisted me, and it's much more competitive. I showed very high interest in the school. I interviewed there and had a great talk with the admissions counselor when she came to my school. I sent in my "keep me on the waitlist card" 20 minutes after receiving the letter, so it should arrive at Pitzer 1st thing tomorrow.

^^ Good luck to you jenny! If I am admitted I won't attend so they will surely give you my spot no worries!

Accepted, in maryland, got the letter today!

ahhhh still haven't gotten my letter in IL! looks like I have to wait until Monday....

I live in Hawaii and I got my acceptance today.

My D is waitlisted....anybody know if/how much Pitzer has gone to their waitlist in previous years? It's her #1 pick but she doesn't want to get her hopes up for nothing. The letter doesn't indicate any waitlist number, so it seems like a real gamble at this point.

IN! With the Trustee Scholarship! Does anyone know this year's acceptance rate? And how many students get the Trustee scholarship?

No idea when it comes to the scholarship, but the acceptance rate went down from 22% to 20% this year. As posted by Justin (one of the admission reps.):

Total Number of Applicants: 4079
Total Number of Admits: 822
Admit Rate: 20%

In State Students: 46%
Out of State Students: 54%
Average GPA 3.9

Rejected. Just got it in the mail today. I didn't even know it was coming today. Whatever though, I got into Cal and UCSD and I would rather go to both of those over Pitzer

Waiting for news as well.
Note that # of applicants is about same as last year: 4032 for 2008, 4079 for 2009.
Slight fewer were accepted this year which lowers the acceptance rate (an easy stat to manipulate; just add more people to the waitlist).

Last year D was waitlisted and then received letter that they were taking no one from the waitlist because they had sufficient acceptances from their first round of offers. D decided to take a gap year, volunteer in Honduras and New Zealand, and got accepted this year with Trustee Scholarship and great FA. The tough decision to take a gap year paid off for her. Good luck to your daughter.
