I’m not too sure about mailing. But she said this:

“PS Review concludes on March 19th. Information arriving after that date will not be considered.”

^Hm hopefully that means letters will go out early. I dont see any point in delaying mailing if decisions are final. but may, since georgetown is so obsolete with its admissions process, they have to get a few people to slowly and tediously stuff, lick, seal, stamp, and mail letters.

Assuming they work over the weekend (and they probably will) they ought to get mailed by Monday or Tuesday.

You guys are making me freak out! GU is really the only school I want to go to next year:)

TheRoad: Yes I am :), hahah my spelling has ALWAYS sucked though.

Hey, spelling is OVERRATED! Good luck on Georgetown! I have a feeling you will get in. Their stats on the website seems to really emphasize GPA; they see it as a great indicator for success in college…meh, I wish I had your GPA but hopefully my SAT 1580 will help me! (Math+CR) seeing GU doesn’t look at Writing…

^ I hate that they don’t look at writing. I got an 800 on writing lol but my single sitting M+R is only 1560. they dont superscore right?

I recieved this email yesterday from Gtown admissions to write em an essay and I wrote one and sent it last night? What does it mean?

Dear Joshua -
We are currently reviewing your Georgetown application and see that you designated “American Indian or Alaska Native” as your ethnicity. The admissions committee is interested in learning more about you and your background and would appreciate any information you choose to provide that would elaborate on your identity.
If you choose to provide further information, please email me immediately as we will be making all final decisions this week.
Thank you and best of luck,
Lauren Randle

It’s an affirmative action blade; they want to see how much of an URM you are, I guess or to verify that you are indeed a native american. Good luck!

ahh affirmative action… The greatest thing in America.

Hi Guys,

FYI you are reading too much into every little clue! When committee is done, the process still takes considerable time. The Dean and the enrollment group need to run admit models and analyze the results. They then look at projected yields in all sorts of ways, before determining what the final admit pool is. THEN they code the system. THEN they run the letters and double check everything. THEN the letters get stuffed and mailed. So end of committee on March 17 or 18 or 19 does not mean letters appearing before April 1.

So Happy Friday, relax and enjoy being a HS senior!!!

I have a lot of opinions on affirmative action. But I won’t go into details :).

Im hispanic, do you really think that will help me??

its ******** but yes… being any minority always helps… sucks for white males :(

^^ White females actually, since there are more females than males and more females apply to colleges. But being white is tough in college admissions, regardless of gender.

try being asian…

I find it hard to believe that a college’s deciding factor in rejecting someone would be that the person is white, Asian, or female. Affirmative Action is used as an excuse too often, it’s really not as extreme as it is portrayed.

No, I disagree. Most everyone that applies have very close GPAs and test scores, especially when applying to top schools like Georgetown, and minority status is often the factor that differentiates applications. A member of a minority will not get in simply because they are a minority, but in my opinion it certainly will get your application a closer look which is so vital in getting accepted to schools like Georgetown.

I have to agree with ejh074 here. Honestly, if it comes down to two applicants with the same stats and one being a minority. The minority will most likely be chosen in my personal opinion.

^thats a fact.
