14.6% is more competitive than last year, which was 15.7%

I saw a list last year of the 20 schools with the lowest acceptance rate. Of the 20, only 5 were LAC’s. The 5 included Pomona, CMC and Pitzer (other two being Amherst and Swarthmore). Congrats to all.

Waitlisted. Probably won’t be accepting a spot on the list considering I got into Grinnell with outstanding financial aid and I’ve been told it’s better for science anyways.

Congrats to everyone who got in! Pitzer is a wonderful place and I hope you all will visit and enjoy it.
Tougis, I’m sorry to hear that, the new acceptance rate is tremendously low so don’t take it too personally and I’m sure you’ll end up somewhere great!
Thirddplanet:Great to hear you got into Grinnel, its a quality school that I’m sure is strong in the sciences. That being said, I wouldn’t discount Pitzer in your selection. Its sciences are top-notch and facilities and classes are shared under the umbrella of the Keck Science Dept. with CMC and Scripps.

I’m not really inclined to take a spot considering the last CDS has over 900 people on the waitlist and none accepted (2008-09). Better to just rip the bandaid off than pull it slowly.

White Male from PA

ECs - 3 of which started prior to 9th grade; leadership in 3; community service.
Received Trustee Community Scholarship

He was denied by Pomona and Oxy the day before he received this acceptance. We were very surprised with an Oxy rejection and Pitzer acceptance.

Though it is his top pick, the cost is much higher than other schools he has been accepted to. Sadly, he will likely to attend.

Hi, what does CDS mean? My son is on the waitlist at Pitzer - he was accepted at several other great liberal arts colleges but Pitzer is his first choice. Does anyone know about how many people were waitlisted at Pitzer? He is remaining on the waitlist as he is really hoping he gets in!
