It's ok, catacat, it's ok.

I can't believe we have a thread purely dedicated to freaking ourselves out :)

12 days!

More like 11

I will stop obsessing over my incoming rejections and pray for acceptance (hah) .... Good luck guys! Over and Out.

oh... its only 9:02 PM on the 17th here =(
boo. =D

About 11 days, 16 hours here. Whatever. Once it's a matter of 3-4 days, the countdown doesn't matter.

Do they start mailing before the 29th?

Nope, I don't think so. Harvard will start mailing on the 29th. I'm going to start praying too, Inaina--no more negativity!!

oh I have been praying since december (no joke) of course then I would feel bad b/c there are way more important things to be praying about

Yes Catacat...you are speaking reality. Although Harvard has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl.....reality is ... there are many things in life that are much more important needing prayer...such as my brother-in-law serving on the front lines in Iraq. I have been offered several sizable scholarships to other private schools in Ohio....the options are unlimited.

Anyone else getting increasingly depressed? The Ivies haven't sent me anything at all (aside from the usual username/password stuff). I almost feel like I'm out of the game already and I'm just waiting to see the big official 'REJECTED's pop up on my screen. Bah.

11 days away

i'm scared tho

Counting down the days, I applied EA and didn't get an interview, got deferred, but got an interview earlier last week. Harvard was the last thing on my mind until then...now I'm counting down the days...11.....geez

only 10 days left...

eeeks. our last full week of school before decisions

Same for me TellETube. Even though this is wracking my brain, I know I'll be super busy this week, so I won't think about H so much.....I hope.

LALALALALA.... insanity awaits!

lol. Thank you Inaina for reading my mind.

Is anyone going to wait for their decisions to come in the mail or is everyone checking it on line? Even though the suspense is great, I think it seems easier to prepare oneself for the decisions by seeing the envelope (thick or thin) than seeing decisions pop up on the screen especially if you are getting several of them on one day.

nutmeg,
Allmost all of the applicants who applied received nothing from Harvard. The reality is that only 5% of those ACCEPTED who are non athletes received a likely letter, so although its hard to realize that from cc, most have not received anything from Harvard yet.
As for the likely letters that some have received at some selective schools or early acceptances, I have checked many threads and profiles and although not all, the majority of them are URMs. At some schools there are special weekends for multicultural applicants and those applicants are notified of their acceptances or that they will be accepted in advance. The selective schools always try to court minorities with good grades and good test scores.
URMs with high grades and scores for URM's have found that they may have received likely letters from several schools, ect.
Also, for those who were not URMs and received likely letters sometimes there is sometimes no rhyme or reason for it as there is often no rhyme or reason for acceptances. There are applicants who are posting they were rejected early from their ED choices but received likely letters from Duke and or Dartmouth where their ED choice had the same or less selectivity as Duke and Dartmouth.
Also, some who received likely letters from Yale or Harvard and posted on cc seemed to be surprised that they received the letter when they did not think their stats warranted it.
The reality is that for the majority of applicants and the majority who will be accepted, most will have heard nothing from the school until March 29th when they receive their decision
