RD Countdown Thread!

Wow, 10 days. This is going to be quick :D

In other news, I might not be able to visit Duke :( I called their travel agency today and the agent said that the only flights he could find went overbudget, so to call later. I really wanted to go :(

ARRRRRRRRRRR

I'm just so glad here is a corner to express my insanity over decisions I otherwise do not express at school :D

we're down to the single digits....nine days

Hi guys.
I know this is a wierd place to put this, but if I don't say it now, I'll probably get so caught up my well... reacting to my decisions that I'll never get it out. The fact is, though this board has acted as an almost constant reminder of how close I am to college rejection... I alos appreciate how supportive almost everyoone was... Thank all of you amazing people... so I guess all could do is wish everyone good luck. Who knows, maybe we'll all get in :)

things will work out for the best

Inaina if your last sentence ends up being true I will send you a box of homemade brownies to wherever you live.

catacat: Haha... brownies! Yay! You know what, I don't think there has been very many downright rejections this year has there?

you know, i've always noticed that our grade (like grads '07) has been especially strong in terms of academics, etc... when i was in elementary school, our grade was the only one where almost everyone applied for special advanced HS programs, etc... and now, in high school, our grade has had the highest rate of applicants to Ivies, etc by far..

is it just me or have you noticed that too? i wish i was born a year earlier lol =P although i guess that wouldn't have helped too much with my application =P

That actually is true! The senior year in my school has a lot of geniuses, while the junior year (that's me) only has a lot (I mean a lot) of smart people (who are definitely not geniuses)

totally agree with the last two posts; i'm in NC, where are you guys from?

SC represent.

i used to be the class of 2008 ( i skipped 7th grade) and, in my school, the class of 2007 is way more intelligent and competitive as a whole

We are the last graduating class born exclusively in the 80's, perhaps the decade wanted to go out with a bang (I love the 80's ;-])

My school had to create a higher level for a few courses for the first time in twenty years for my class. ('07) But yes something must have happened in '88/'89 because i've noticed it for a while.

Hmmmmm....my friends in the office noticed that the Average psat score for 08 was way lower than that of o7...for my school at least.
hmmmm, interesting... so either Barbara bush improved our educational system... NCLB worked (PSHhhhhhhhh) or 07 rocks! I opt for the latter...
Haha, good luck guys. If we all get in, I'll throw us a frosh bash...lol
By the way, shouldn't it be I guess the difference is that the Berlin wall fell at almost the same time as the cut off for the 07 class... maybe we were all feed special steriods to make us smarter... to combat the cold war... and when the wall fell, they didn't need that anymore... oh god what a load of bs

Not sure how much of a difference this could make, but I know for most asians, 88 was a big year to shoot for in terms of having kids. 88 is the year of the dragon on the chinese zodiac, and the dragon is regarded highly in most circles. Wow I sound so asian...

But 88 was the senior class of '06.

88 comes around, parents figure it's time to have a kid, they make sexy time, and WHAM...nine months later out pops little Joey. Which would put them in the class of 2007. ;)

especially Asian parents who believe in the power of the Chinese dragon...

Im 88.. as well as all students in bilingual schools in Mexico. I believe seniors in many other countries are 88 too.

Ill be 19 when I enter college.. haha pretty old.
