<p>Because our office will be closed from December 31-January 5th, we have chosen to extend our RD application deadline to January 5th. </p>
<p>The Common and Universal Applications should have this reflected on their sites soon; please don't worry if their sites continue to say the 1st is our deadline for a bit as things may be a bit slower to be changed near the holidays. The application will remain open in both services through 11:59pm on January 5. </p>

<p>Why was this done so late? </p>
<p>I was preparing to possibly submit it a few days before the January 1st deadline, but thank you, I guess I will use this time to polish my essays some more.</p>
<p>I’m not sure why the date was listed as the 1st anyway. As far as I know, applications have traditionally been due the 2nd or the 3rd.</p>
<p>However, this may be an indication that applications haven’t risen as much as the admissions office predicted, and they’re extending the deadline to receive more apps. I could be wrong, though.</p>
<p>They extended the EA deadline a full week. I’m not sure why. They also extended the financial aid info and tax forms deadline a week as well. At least for EA. Not sure if they’re planning to the the same for RD</p>
