D received email last night around 6:00. For those accepted- what other schools are you seriously considering?? Here, it is F&M and Lafayette (no decision yet from either), Gettysburg and BC (her reach and no decision yet). Congrats to all accepted.

My D applied to Grinnell, Oberlin, Bryn Mawr, Smith, Occidental, Lewis and Clark, Dickinson. So far she is four for four. :) She finds out the last three in a week. Dickinson looks like a terrific school and is strong in her area of interests. It seems to have a slightly more preppy feel then some of her other schools, although we haven't visited yet. If the FA is okay we will be flying out there in a few weeks. Those of you on the East coast, why wouldn't you revisit?! We are in CA and Dickinson is starting to get a name out here. A couple people had actually heard of it when we mentioned where she had applied LOL.
stats for the person who asked:
SAT 770/710/690
gpa 4.08
applied for a little FA

Citrus, for us, we visited in the fall. It's an 9 hour drive, and my D would miss school and sports. So we might try to get back, but we'll need to have that discussion on cost/benefit in terms of what she'll miss if she misses school.

Citrusbelt, for what it's worth, while there are some preppy kids at Dickinson, my D, who got accepted ED I is definitely NOT one of them, yet she felt that everyone she met was very open and accepting. All you have to do is read about the "Green Devil" environmental mascot (as counterpoint to the Red Devils which is the main mascot), observe the weird looking mermaid weathervane on top of one of the original buildings, and learn about the global/study abroad/international student population to see that there is a much broader spectrum of attitudes and backgrounds than is noticeable at first blush. As you can tell, we are really sold on the school!

We visited while school was in session but admissions office wasn't open, stopped random students and asked questions and poked into anywhere we could find to poke into. The library is just gorgeous. We won't go back unless she decides to attend....

D is also in at Elon, Gettysburg, U Rochester, and Wash U St. Louis so far, but she's very seriously considering Dickinson....

Who-knew, I'm also considering (but still waiting to hear from) Bowdoin, Williams, and Amherst. I have other schools as well, but those are the top of my list. Dickinson was my safety, but after looking into it more I've really gotten hooked.

And brief stats:
SAT: 2150 (CR 730 M 680 W 740)
SAT IIs: US Hist 750 Lit 730 Math I 700
CGPA (W): 4.11

I accessed the admissions portal and everything, but all it says is this:

Please note that ED and EA decisions are no longer available on this site.
Regular decisions will be available on March 21, 2008 after 5:00 pm EST.

But then Nothing in my profile says what the decision was... What exactly does this mean im a bit confused considering its the 23rd and all...
