RD decision dates?

Does anyone have any knowledge, based on past experience, of when Carleton's RD admissions decisions have typically been announced?

As already posted in another thread:

I know they’re usually mailed but are they also put up on the Carleton portal?

Will internationals have to wait for the mail to cross the ocean or is there a portal so we can find out online right away?

It’s all mailed. They usually send out international decisions a few weeks early.

Actually, I don’t think international decisions necessarily leave Northfield earlier. But, international acceptances are sent by FedEx or similar which means they do arrive quickly even over a long distance.

Nah… international decisions aren’t sent by any commercial courier at all… Last year my friend got it after one month… based on that assumption, i will get it after 2 months coz my home address is the most rural place ever…

Another one of the colleges I’m applying to sent me a letter with some details about an application portal (why they didn’t send the information to me by email like all of the other colleges I’m applying to I don’t know). I received the letter exactly three weeks after the mailing date. Granted that school wasn’t Carleton, but do you think it will take a similar amount of time for Carleton’s admission decision? Do you guys think that after Carleton’s letters have been confirmed to have been mailed I could email or call the admissions office and ask for their decision for me? Would that be out of line? Is there no other choice than to simply wait for it to arrive?

^ IBinlux, I hear that acceptance letter will roll out in Commercial mail whereas rejections will come slowly and painfully through regular mail… What country are you in?

Luxembourg :)

After the decision letters are sent by USPS (for the odmestic studnets) or FedEx (for the internationals), the application accounts will be updated by the admission office. Watch over the admission office blog to know when they have sent out the decision letters and then you can check your Carleton account. If you do not get your decision result after April 1, call the admission office.

For domestic applicants:
Postal mail arrives first, then email notification to check Carleton portal.

For international applicants:
Email notification to check Carleton portal, then postal mail.

FYI decisions just got mailed out. Check Carleton’s facebook

Does anyone know how long it takes for decisions to get to Europe?

Oh that’s scary… I’m in Europe too!
I got a letter from Duke that came by FedEx in like two/three days, but who knows??

Yeah I saw the Facebook post! The admit packets are in the mail! I am wondering when they will arrive to my country… It will be really nice to learn an acceptance through old-fashioned way:)

@robcol same! If I had the patience I would wait for all my letters via mail!

I wonder how long they take to get from Minnesota to Nebraska. Hmmm

SO nervous.

So they emailed me earlier in the year asking if I had transcripts from my time studying abroad. I didn’t (they wouldn’t want to see my grades) but I provided them with a list of my courses and a link to the school’s website. I’m not getting my hopes up though.
