They have to stuff like 1500 envelopes and send them (that's just for acceptances). They don't stuff them all at once because they can only stuff so many per day. They do the "high-priority" ones first... people who live far away and students of color (since SOC open house is earlier than WesFest).

I live in Maine and (two years ago) I got mine on the same day as my friend got his rejection and 2 days after another guy in my class got his rejection... and this was almost April 1, I think. So if you live in New England I wouldn't expect it for a little while yet.

Well guess that's bad news for my thusfar mailless self -I'm an SOC.
That's ok, I wasn't counting on Wes. Congrats to current and soon to be acceptees!

thanks, matt. I'd just hate to think not getting a letter is a bad sign... i think im done with bad signs by now. So April 1st seems to be The Day... I think thats about 5 letters I'm supposed to get all on that day ... what fun!

it was postmarked the 18th. also, did everyone get the deans signature with "yes!! come to wes!" written in blue ink? its nice to think they care about their admits. maybe thats why its taking them so long for the others. the dean has to sign 1500 pieces of paper!

btw, when i say i was invited to the SoC thing, im only half asian, the other half, white.

I live in australia......mail is gonna take a very loooooooong time "3 - 10 business days" but knowing our mail, i'll be lucky to get it in june.
I heard somewhere that the decision does come up on wescheck around the 22nd in a thread a few days ago i think. Might be wrong tho.

Congratulations to all who've been accepted! Would love to know your stats to get a better idea of my D's chances and also if you're planning to attend.

Lucky me, my daughter scored 1500 on the SAT, is about 16 in a class of about 500, has an unweighted 4.0, and a moderate number of EC'S such as Amnesty, photo club, art club, and some awards. She is also Hispanic.

I don't mean to scare anyone. The stuffing 1500+ envelopes probably means things are crazy and they're doing them haphazardly. Things being done haphazardly is something you'll get used to if you come to Wes.

freaking out...any idea when the freeman asian scholarship admit/reject letters get sent out? Got rejected and deferred so far from 2 schools :(
