I got a packet today in the mail with information about Cornell and it said some of the colleges including CALS will notify decisions as early as Feb. 15? And that we would have to notify them of our decision within two weeks after that? Anyone know anything about this? Most of my other schools won't notify until late march/ April....

When does ILR let us know? I better not have to respond within 2 weeks during Feb, because most of my schools are letting me know in March/April too. :(

the contract colleges will have rolling admissions in the sense that they will start notifying you of decisions earlier. you DON'T have to notify them of your decision (or at least we didn't have to last year) within two weeks. that'd be kind of ridiculous, since you have other schools that you have applied to, from which you don't find out until april.

i found out about cornell in late february last year, but i didn't reply until may.

Woahh :S
Maybe email and ask them...

Its not a contract college thing. Hotel, ILR, and CALS all admit on a rolling basis. Human Ecology, A&S, AAP, and Engineering to not admit on a rolling basis.

ILR's first wave is in early feb. Good luck guys, us defered ILR'ies must wait ito ou till april till after they make your decisions.

Alright, I went to the Cornell Website and found this. It's in PDF format.

Under "Admission decisions to applicants" it states that for CALS, Hotel, and ILR, decisions are rolling beginning in mid-February. You have either two weeks after your decision is received OR until May 1st...whichever is LATER. So if you receive your decision in mid-February (one of the lucky ones), you have until May 1st. If you receive it April 23, you have until May 7th.

what kind of students are accepted in february?

There is no specific "kind" of students, to the public's knowledge, that is accepted in February, but only CALS, Hotel, and ILR offer admissions decisions in a rolling fashion.

Thanks everyone for clearing this up...I got pretty nervous there for awhile haha.

So since I applied Jan 1st I probably won't get my notification until like march anyways

I am SHOCKED by this! I had never noticed that part of the admissions process!

I'm ECSTATIC - both schools I applied to (CALS, ILR) are rolling. I can't believe this... I could find out so early!!!

Then again, I have to wonder if submitting on January 2 will delay my notice, in comparison to kids who submitted in December or even November.

Wow!! That's insane. I applied to CALS-AEM. On one hand it's awesome, but I'm already nervous enough!

whats rolling..

will the rolling admissions affect deferred ED applicants?

I thought it was rolling starting in the beginning of March. Sweet. I applied back in October for CALS-AEM so maybe I'll actually hear in Feb! Now I'm excited. lol

oh dear god. I applied to hotel but not until jan 1...so i will probably hear last anyway. does this rolling have to do with when you submit it or do they just pick ones?

idk if this is a dumb question, but since it's rolling.. does that mean at some random time in feb. we could possibly get an envelope in the mail w/ our decision as opposed to logging onto the website online & seeing the result there?

You'll get a letter in the mail....decisions will not appear online until the Ivy Common Notification date....which is around March 31/April 1

k thank you! that's actually a relief.. b/c having to wait all the way till march/april for all my decisions is gunna seem like forever away. unexpectedly receiving it in the mail in february would be pretty cool

i have the same question as erzpepnicki, does the date we submit have any correlation with the date we recieve notification?
