RD decisions?

Does anyone know when we should expect the decisions? I know they say we should all have them by April 1st but generally liberal arts colleges start sending them out this week or pretty soon. Any ideas?

Last year people didn’t receive them until Sunday the 27th.
Are they by mail or online?

I think they’re by mail. I haven’t received any information about an online portal or anything so I’m guessing, but I’m not sure.

Last year my D received her acceptance letter by mail on Saturday, May 26. No online notification last year.

^ You meant March 26?

Are international students notified by mail as well? Do they send an email too? Because if not I guess I would have to wait another week or two after you guys in the US get the letters.

Swarthmore “snail mails” decisions. They do not have any online link. In past years, decisions have generally been mailed on Thursdays. I believe that decisions for internationals are emailed. And, claudeturpin undoubtedly means that his daughter received her decision on Saturday, MARCH 26th, not May 26th. ;)

I got mine like two weeks ago

separatedspine-You received an “early write,” not a regular decision notification. Let’s not confuse the vast majority of people on here who are waiting for regular decision notifications.

Oh, my bad. I thought that since I applied RD it was the same thing

Does anyone know if it’s true that Swarthmore’s decision envelopes are all the same size? That is, there aren’t “fat” vs. “skinny” envelopes for accepts and rejects?

Swarthmore has, to my knowledge, never sent out “fat” envelopes.

Thank you! And does anyone happen to know if Swat mailed decisions today?

Last year acceptances were sent in “fat” envelopes.

Decisions were mailed on 3/22.

I’m not sure what claudeturpin means by a “fat” envelope. The normal Swat decision envelope is not a regular size business envelope, so maybe that’s where the difference of opinion comes in.

Fat envelopes are just giant envelopes that are usually big enough to have a folder inside of it a long with brochures and stuff like that. contrasting the “fat” envelope is a normal letter sized envelope that is the same size as the envelopes that you get your taxes in. It refers to the size of the package, not how thick the actual letter is.

Ha, so the letters are on their way (albeit crawling at snail pace)!

And my point, collegeguyyeah, is that Swat decisions do not come in a “normal” business size envelope. It’s a different shape, and not what you are describing as being large enough to contain folders, etc. The Swat envelopes are designed to hold a standard 8 1/2 x 11 inch piece of paper folded in half, rather than in thirds like a “normal” business size envelope would be designed to do. I absolutely know what a “fat” envelope is, and in my experience, that’s not what Swat sends out for decisions.

shootastar-people who live within a close radius of Swarthmore will probably receive the decisions today, people who live within 2-3 hours will probably receive them tomorrow, etc.

We live close to Swarthmore. My son got his rejection letter today.

Sorry to hear that. Good luck with the rest.

We got a rejection today too, in a 8.5x5.5 envelope as described above.
