still no email … I am an international

For those expecting an email, the officer for my region told me that they won’t release decisions over the phone, email, etc. until April 2nd. I’m not exactly sure how this carries over to international applicants, but I wouldn’t be surprised if you received your emails then.

Waitlisted. International student here and got the letter through the mail today.

Just some quick stats for future applicants’ reference:

SAT I: C 800 M 800 W 680
SAT II: Math II 800 Lit 700
GPA: School doesn’t use GPA. In the mid-year transcript I got 41/42 (IB). Junior year first semester was 36/42, and second semester was 38/42.
Essays: common app essay was great, supplement essay was decent but not too impressive
ECs: Weak. No leadership positions at all as my natural inclination is to bury my head behind books or read up on some mathematical/philosophical theories on the internet at home lol
Did not ask for an interview.

Not too disappointed, since I already got into UChicago, my top choice.

What did the letter say, shootastar?

shootstar, can I ask where are you from? How did you get the letter? I mean, was it delivered to you via fedex, dhl, ups, etc? I just wanted to inquire which postal agency gave you that letter. I haven’t received anything yet. I think it wasn’t sent or postal agency is working too badly. They are procrastinating everything else.

For all those international students wondering, I received my acceptance letter in Malaysia about 3 days ago via Fedex and an almost identical letter through email yesterday. Take a quick peek in the spam folder, perhaps?

pennG2016: It says “The Committee was impressed by your overall record and qualifications and I have placed your name on an alternate list for consideration, if we are able to admit additional students.” There is a card enclosed with the letter, which the waitlisted student has to complete and mail back by April 16 to confirm his/her continuing interest in Swarthmore, if he/she wants further consideration. Otherwise, he/she automatically gives up his/her spot on the wait list.

azer1993: I’m form Hong Kong. I’m really not sure which postal agency delivered the letter as I wasn’t home when it arrived and mom doesn’t remember. On the top-right corner envelop it says Pitney Bowes and “via air mail”, if that helps. I think the letters have been sent; just wait a couple more days. Good luck!

Hello everyone, I am relatively new on CC and I applied Regular Decision to Swarthmore. I am an international student applying for Financial Aid and I have yet to receive any notifications - it has been such a torment :(

@ediypzy? where are u from, im here in jamaica- and havent heard a thing!

Hi firework2! I am from Singapore. :)

:D ok, hope u get in

when are they gonna send in my decision … err!!!

Just called the admissions. All the decisions will be e-mailed by April,2

so much wait… already got 9 rejections in a row yesterday… another one from swarthmore would be devastating… fingers crossed
