Saw this on the UMass Admissions page today: Decisions are starting to be mailed very soon, and we will continue to mail throughout the month of March. Almost all decisions will be out by the first week of April.

Read online that the first wave of letters were mailed out on the first. They will be updating the spire page exactly a week after your letter is sent out. So, we should hear the first decisions in 3 days!!!

Ah - inside information! I hope my son is in that first wave. He’s been “under review” for what seems like forever. His application was received by UMass Dec. 25.

Cool! I submitted early January and my application just went from complete to under review yesterday. Hopefully I’ll receive my decision within 2 weeks. The stress is killing me!!! Can’t wait to hear about your kids too! I feel like we’ve all become attached through this wait. Good luck!

Emmacat - I do too! I always smile when I see your name and a couple of others. We’re all in this together.

My son did get a really nice acceptance to Clark University on Friday which brightened all our weekends. And ConfusedMom - thanks for the info about the mail. We’re in NH (about two hours due north of Amherst) and sometimes I think stuff gets to us via Pony Express!

No - the other direction - I’m in Hanover! I think Amherst is just about the most perfect place to go to college. My older son attends Hampshire College, just down the road a bit.

Oh - PM me if you’re in the neighborhood! We absolutely love it here. And thanks re: Clark. It’s one that I asked S to apply to as I like their philosophy. I can’t believe yours didn’t apply there too - ha ha

I live around 2 hours away, but in MA. My app has been under review for what feels like a couple of weeks, but I feel confident as my GPA and SAT scores are good enough, and I want to attend UMass Amherst. Hopefully you all receive your letters soon-I just got a response from UMass Lowell (accepted) a few days ago after submitting my app on Jan. 15. :)

BTMell-Clark: no engineering. D15 will be looking at Dartmouth so we will be up in that area more. Would like to retire near water but the humidity really bothers me more and more as time goes on so will probably look at lakes in Maine, NH, and VT.

Lets hope we hear something soon!

Beatlesfreak- Congatulations on ULowell! (their hockey team is doing really well this year. Was at a game over the weekend). My DS was admitted there also.

ConfusedMom - ah yes, that’s right. My S is going for biology/premed so I think it’s a good fit for him. I’m hoping things line up well at UMass for him - I think he’d enjoy it there and Amherst is awesome. UMass has an excellent audiology department so even though it’s a big school, I’ve heard from other kids who are deaf or hard of hearing that accommodations are really good there. My son is completely oral (he has bilateral cochlear implants) so accommodations matter a lot. No notification up here either.

Truly - if you are up this way let me know. S did apply to Dartmouth but they are SO competitive I think it’s a huge reach although they do seem to be generous to kids in the area.

Beatlesfreak - yes, congrats on UMass Lowell! Hopefully we’ll all find out soon. The waiting is hard.

Emmacat where are you from? I’m looking for a roommate for umass so I don’t end up with someone crazy lol but BTMell I’m premed too and its an amazing program there ! I’m so excited to start! And once your application is under review it only takes about a week and a half to change to accepted/denied so I am having my fingers crossed for all of you! It’s so nice to be in this with people who understand.

Hi Sunset - my son’s application has been under review it seems like forever - I’m pretty sure it’s been a month now. Thanks for your good wishes!
