Is it me or does UMass Spire only gets updated once a day is that true ?

Yes, I believe it is only once a day, (overnight)

I just want to jump in and say good luck to all who are still waiting. Luckily, my son was accepted early action a looooong time ago but we are still waiting for SUNY Stony Brook. He applied in October and no word yet. It is beyond frustrating to know some acceptances in November, and others not until April. These are his top 2 schools and I’m ready to just send my deposit to UMass and say the heck with Stony Brook at this point. He’s got friends who are already picking roommates. I know it’ll be over soon, but it really wears you down after a while!

Take heart ConfusedMominMA…we are still waiting on UMass also. And on Northeastern, and on WPI, and on FA @ UConn, and FA @ UMD. Waiting is what we all have to do at ths point. Still so damn frustrating though.

USNChief- oh wow, you are still waiting too?! It is a pain! Have you checked your UConn account. People are getting FA info. I can’t seem to get on with my phone so will just check tomorrow. Good luck with your other admissions! BTW, just home from watching UMass Lowell beat UMaine in hockey to advance to the next round. Intense game. Went into sudden death OT.

How is UMass distributing acceptance letters? Acceptance via email, snail mail or Spire it is so confusing not even knowing where when or how .Is there an established set of rules our is it just random. thanks and of course Good Luck to all that are in the same boat

Hi Orange - my son received his acceptance packet in the mail then Spire was updated a couple of days later. Waiting is so hard - I hope you hear something soon.

My son was checking the various portals of the school he has applied to and in the process found the financial aid package from UMASS. As previously anticipated, he did not receive any need based aid. The award was for only $2,000 dollars off the tuition plus it appears next year’s tuition is higher than what I had previously read. I’m a bit confused because when he received his acceptance it stated that he would received $1,000 merit scholarship as well as the Adams Scholarship for his MCAS scores. Neither of these are significant awards but I had thought it was more than $2,000 total.

You have to give them a copy of the letter about the Adams tuition waiver before they will give you credit for it. I know I stashed it somewhere safe, now I just have to find it!

Thank you for that information. Any idea what the basic tuition at UMASS is without the fees?

Last year tuition was $1714, the rest is fees. Pretty shameful really the way they make you think you are getting a good deal. So that waiver isn’t worth a whole lot, but every little bit helps.

Thanks BTMel fingers crossed

Another day with no news from UMass!

It’s Monday has anyone recieved any mail today. Good luck 1

Nothing on spire. Guessing that if there’s nothing in the mail today, there probably won’t be anything for a while with the storm :(

Mail just came…nothing…well tommorow’s another day now I’m begining to wonder if anyone has heard from anyone who was rejected or wait-listed this past week

Orangewhite-another day with nothing here either.

I’m so sorry, you guys :-(

I’m not trying to be arrogant or anything, but my gpa and sat’s were far above the average. I was not rejected. UMass may be my safety, but it also happens to be my first choice. There is no reason to feel sorry for us. I’m sure we got in.

Admission Office said…Decisions for students who were deferred from early action will be going out through the end of this month and into early April.
