i feel like colleges are going crazy w/ the waitlists it sucks..ive already gotten waitlisted to 2 schools

Son waitlisted - applied to business school. Chad bro chill, click on the link next to your waitlist decision and it will tell you about the wiat list.

Me too Fosho... Villanova marks the second school that waitlisted me. In some ways I feel it is better than a rejection, or maybe just a less severe method of rejection-- I haven't decided yet if I want to prolong the agony of being on a waitlist.

Waitlisted...ahhh.
GPA: 3.7
SAT: 2020
ACT: 30 (English/Reading 31)
ECs: tons

I'm def going to put my name on the waitlist though. I talked to two people, both of whom went to Nova and are seniors now (one transferred though). Both were waitlisted, and then accepted. It gives me some hope!

rejectedddd...::cries::

Seems to me that these mid-level schools like Nova, Bucknell and others are wait listing the majority of the higher scoring/performing applicants because they feel they are using them as safeties, know the other schools they have applied to, and don't believe they will ultimately attend. If so, they are doing a disservice to all the kids who spent the time to fill out the apps., write the essays and pay the fees. They seem to have the wait list process backwards. The most qualified applicants should be getting admitted and the next level should be wait listed. Then when spots open up they move up the ladder. That does not appear to be happening IMO!!

My S was wait listed today with a 2110, attends the best catholic high school in NYC and my brother is a Nova grad!! He has other options, so it is ok, but I was shocked he didn't get in! Seems to be some real game playing going on by these schools!! Good luck to all!

^If that's true then that's just BS. I would have gone to 'Nova, too.

Accepted:
1360/1600
3.7 UW GPA
4 AP Classes
8 Varsity Letters
Mock Trial/Debate
Peer Helping

Really excited that I was accepted, but probably will be attending Bucknell University.

I also got waitlisted, but Nova was more of a Reach for me. I did, however, get waitlisted at schools that I def. should have been accepted to. (providence, syracuse) and now im stuck committing to an even lower school until i hear back from BC and my 4 waitlists

I think with Villanova especially their business school is since Business Week recently released their undergrad rankings which ranked Villanova 12th in the country they admitted the very top of their applicant pool hoping the new ranking would attract them. I'm not discrediting Villanova, they are fantastic with or without the new ranking but I think it does help them so I think they are in a limbo. They're hoping their business school fills up with the top students but if not they have the next top bunch on their waiting list but this is just me speculating.

Am I the only one whos decision hasn't been posted yet? Will I get an email when it is posted?

DD just checked and she was accepted. That takes the sting out of being W/L from Bucknell.

I'm so bummed right now...

Villanova was everything I wanted. Good distance from home, great engineering program, and prestigious... The only downfall is you can't drive for 2 years, but I could have gotten over that!

now what? VT, manhattan, BU, RIT, or drexel?

kreeker, my D would trade her Villanova admit for your BU admit in a heart beat. She got waitlisted at BU yesterday.

Have you found the link yet? You sign into Novasis first (if you don't have your id, fill out the form they give you and it'll be sent to your email). After signing in click on "view application status" or words to that affect, and then click on the blue link for your 2007 application. That should take you to the page that shows your basic stats and the word "Decision." Good luck!!!

^Your daughter got into 'Nova but not BU? That's really strange.

D has been ACCEPTED in to the School of Nursing!!! whew!!!!

Special thank you to MOMSWORRIED (hope you're still here) for all the great words of wisdom!

Yes, we think so, too, and she's crushed about BU. Only consolation is that the letter called it a "short" wait list and we hope that really means something. I asked in a BU thread if anyone knows what the chances are of getting in this year from the list, but no thoughts yet.

I can't believe how many got wait-listed. I did as well, pretty upset right now, but congrats to all who got in--you deserve it.
