RD Decisions!

Lovely. The mail came and there was nothing. I bet the post office lost it. Why must they lose the most important document I will ever receive?

In any case, congratulations to everyone who got in. It's good that there haven't been any rejections thus far.

Congrats everyone~

We frustrated too - it's aggravating that some have known they were in since Friday and we still have nothing here.

It's only Tuesday :)

It should've been received by Saturday or Monday, though. It normally takes 2 - 3 days. 5 days to send a small packet is an awfully long time, and it will be 6 days for me at LEAST. Stress++

Phuriku and Mathmom:
D's package was postmarked March 16 and was sent by priority mail, received in Maryland yesterday. We heard a rumor last night that another student at her school received a rejection letter by regular mail, but I can't confirm that. A third student at her school received nothing yesterday. He reasoned that was because we live 10 miles closer to Caltech!

That's great news.

The problem is that even by regular mail, it doesn't take 6 days to send a letter.

waitlisted, lol i actually didnt know that the decisions came out so early so it was a random surprise. the letter was small but a lil bulky so i was wondering why it was so thick (thinking it would just be a rejection letter) then to my surprise i found that i made the waiting list.....

stats: 2290, some research, lots of volunteering...

icsmatt:

Was it sent priority or not? Can anyone else who knows post as well?

Ah! So the domestic students are left wondering where their letters are as well.

Here's to more confusion!

admitted with an axline scholarship thingy

see my earlier posts for stats, i'm too lazy to repost

Waitlisted. better than i expected, but less than i had hoped of course. now it all comes down to my other decisions. Time is moving a bit too slow for me.

Sigh, nothing in the mail for me.

All I got was my official letter from MIT (boo).
Our mail here is atrociously slow, but still, I'm worried.
I just got "rejected" from MIT and so, I'm praying for the best from CalTech (my first choice by a long shot)

AHHH!!! I'm freaking out.
Is it lost? Or is it just a pathetic ole rejection letter, seeing as no one got rejected yet?

Yeah, that's what I'm worried about... that everyone who hasn't received a letter yet get rejected...

The other day, when I was waiting for my Caltech letter, I went to check my mailbox. If there was a letter in my mailbox, that meant I got rejected or waitlisted, since you have to pick up large packets at the front desk. I looked in and found an envelope and my heart sank. But I looked in and found that it was actually my rejection letter from MIT. A rejection letter was never so pleasing as that one. The pain I felt for the split second was the worst I'd felt in my life though, hehe.

The rejection letters and the acceptance letters move at the same speed, silly prefroshlings. Stop worrying so much. People have already been rejected, most just haven't posted in this thread about it for whatever reason.

looks like nobody has heard a rejection yet.

Untrue: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showpost.php?p=3775103&postcount=6

I'm sure other people have has well, they're just less likely to brag about that than getting accepted. ;)

Decision: Accepted

My letter came either sometime over the weekend or on Monday. I was on vacation (and still am, parents phoned to tell me the news). It was in a big FedEx package, supposedly. I live in Toronto, Canada (so nearest major American city would be Buffalo). Unless Stanford is an acceptance, I'm going to Caltech - even if Stanford is, the decision will be tough.

Congrats!!

I guarentee you Ahra, plenty of people have been rejected. Just hang in there :)
