btw have you RECEIVED the DHL parcel? or you are still waiting?

still waiting for it, i'm going to take a nap now though, cause i didn't get much sleep last night, check your e-mail

ok thanks!
have a nice nap!;)

i can finallally say it - I'm in! with a full ride, which means I can attend!

I got my acceptance letter today, but it was quite odd. Apparently I was admitted for spring quarter instead of fall.

I sort of feel like a faliure, haha.

Anyone else out there part of the 150 admitted for February, 2006? What are you planning to do first semester? I think I'll go to where I used to live in France and study there. Or England, maybe.

Good luck to those still waiting!

Yeah I was admitted for spring... I'm thinking about a bunch of different things, but I'm not really sure I'm going yet...we'll see.

Still nothing in the mail! I'm going nuts! I've gotten into 2 UCs, but I've gotten rejected or waitlisted at all my private schools so far, and I REALLY want to get into an LAC!! I'm going out of town for 10 days starting tomorrow morning, which means I'm not going to find out about MHC till 4/9. Would anyone here comment on whether or not I'd likely get in?

Great essays and recs

peaceonearth if I got in, I'd think you would too. Then again, these college things are often so random. (so with your stats you should be fine but don't get your hopes up just because that's a bad idea always IMO). Good luck anyway. Where else are you waiting to hear from?

I've already gotten rejected from Pomona, Georgetown, Tufts, UCLA, Macalester, Barnard, and Colorado College (????), waitlisted by Reed and Scripps (??), and I'm waiting to hear from MHC, Trinity, Wesleyan, Claremont McKenna, Bowdoin, and UC Berkeley, the last 4 of which are reaches. I was really shocked by Colorado College and Scripps... I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for MHC and Trinity...

I agree with eireann. I didn't submit my SATs b/c they were really bad but my GPA (W) is just a bit higher than yours. But your ECs are great and I think it's likely that you will get in.

Btw, I think Trinity is easier to get into than MHC so you shouldn't have a problem there either. I think the good teacher recs and good essay (maybe?) are what got me into Trinity.

I live in CT and Trinity has a gorgeous campus. Seriously though I think my GPA is a bit lower than yours, and those were all (mostly) tough schools. Good luck. I know people that have already been rejected from Bowdoin, so maybe they're sending acceptances later? Good luck.

PoE, I like your chances for MHC. I'm a bit surprised that you didn't get into some of your other choices. I'm guessing that your class rank might have killed you...that can be more important than absolute GPA. Were you not in the top 10 percent? Also, your third SAT II is a little low for some schools.

Colorado does surprise me but in light of everything else, Scripps doesn't. It's much more competitive than some people realize.

aaargh still no letter! now I KNOW I've been rejected :(

Yay. Congrats to all you other ladies who were accepted! :)

My Stats:
Location: Southeast
School: Private prep school
GPA: 3.4 (unweighted)- that's pretty low I guess, but my school offers more rigorous courses than most publics
SAT: 1390 (far better verbal than math)
Extracurriculars: Editor of school paper, editor of literary magazine, piano, violin, swimming, volunteer at church, Amnesty International, mulit-cultural club (and those are ACTIVE memberships, not cheap space-filler to look impressive on college apps)
APs: Only three: foreign language, English and Euro His.
Interview at Oxy: Yes
Teacher Recs: foreign language teacher and English teacher (got straight A's all year in both their classes)

My stats aren't impressive, I'm slightly surprised I got in.

I'm sooo glad I got into a Seven Sisters college. I definitely got straight-up denied at Wellesley. Mt. Holyoke is underrated though. I'm very happy to have been accepted.

We've both applied to Mount Holyoke, Claremont McKenna and Scripps.

I got in to MHC, I'm sure you will. If you got waitlisted at Scripps with your stats, then I'm screwed.

Best wishes with Claremont McKenna-- I'm going to be glued to my computer tomorrow night, checking the online admissions thing. :) How about you?

heeey
i got in!!!
after diana said she had received her dhl packet the other day, i thought that i was gonna be rejected
but just a minute ago the dhl guy delivered mine:))))
i'm soooo happy
the family contribution is higher than i expected, though, so i should see if they can do something about it...
good luck to the rest who are still waiting

Hey!

I'm also accepted and Mount Holyoke gives me a very generous financial aid package which equals a full ride! I'm so happy :)
Congratulations to all of you who got in;)

i'm an int'l student...haven't heard anything yet.... :(

me too~~
mhc___I am all here waiting for you!

me neither :(
