RD Decisions!

wow. sounds like DHL is crap. i highly recommend UPS for anyone wanting to send big things.
good luck to those of you still waiting. i've got my fingers crossed.

Does Mount Holyoke send decisions by email?

Not for domestics. I'm not sure about int'ls.

If you still don't have your decision, your best bet is to call. Even if they won't tell you exactly what it is, they'll probably let you know when they did/will send it.

gianievve, MHC does not email decisions. if you go to your ISIS account, you can see when the decision was sent

hmm. thanks cute_wabbit and wolfstarslasher.
Did anyone here apply to Agnes Scott College? Just wondering if Agnes Scott sends decisions by email since Mt. Holyoke doesn't.... (Apologies for posting the question here, but the Agnes Scott board is completely inactive and Mt. Holyoke is it's close sister school. ;) )

sucharita, PEALS-05, dacutewabbit, PierreMarie
you are very nice girls, but now i'm sure i'm not accepted
today i received the written confirmation of rejection from wellesley and grinnell they were sent in 22 and 24 march, so if mhc had sent my letter in 25, i must received it in 5 or 6 april (not through dhl, so it's sure that they will send my rejection)
i've heard that they sent acceptances earlier, but how i will receive their letter late => it's sure that ....
it's so hard to write these words
my last chance is lsu baton rouge: maybe i will study physics & math or computer science
what are you going to study?

gianievve- Aren't you going to Princeton? I saw your post over on the Princeton board.
You should contact Agnes Scott about how they handle admissions notification. I was unaware that they are considered a sister school to Mt. Holyoke (since Anges Scott is not one of the Seven Sister.)

sophia2u, if i go to MHC i would like to design my own major (combination of math, linguistics and cognitive psychology) and probably do one of those excellent 5 year double-degree programs, one of which is in engineering (CalTech sounds perfect;)) wow! that sounds really great, but i don't know if i i'll attend (b/c of the finaid pack)

CrewMom - Yeah. I'm from the Pton board a stone throw away. :p I wasn't asking for myself but for a friend. Was just hoping that a Mt. Holyokie might have applied to Agnes Scott and could say whether it was an email decision or not. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

And congratulations to everyone accepted!!!

sophia2u -- since letters already were sent, I see no reason why you could not contact the College directly. Why agonize over whether you were accepted or not? The admissions people can tell you for certain. If you were rejected, you may have an opportunity to engage an Admissions Counselor in a conversation and perhaps convince him/her that a mistake was made. You have nothing to lose.... If you are not admitted, at least you will be able to move on and go to a great school that wants you.

Good luck -- hope it's good news! Keeping my fingers crossed...!

From my experience, actually, the admission office will not tell you your decision over the phone. They will just tell you that they have sent/not yet sent the letter and tell you to wait a few more days.

actually, i emailed the admissions office a week ago and they told me that if a letter hasnt reached me by april 5th, then i could call the office and they'll tell me my decision.

sophia, i got accepted at grinnell but i havent received my acceptance package yet :) which means that DHL just really sucks.

I love DHL now - they delivered the one package I thought I'd never get in 3 days flat :)

But the Mt Holyoke one took 8 days!

boxmaker1917
i've already e-mail them, but no answer

sophia, they will email back around 10 am EST time. :) and really, the admissions office doesnt reply right away.

PierreMarie, my Grinnell Acceptance package was not sent through DHL. It is postmarked March,22 and came on April 1 by air mail.

dacutewabbit, really? in another thread, someone said that he got his via DHL..

:) mine was via air mail, no dhl... don't know why they send them different ways. may be if the other package was sent later than mine, they have decided to send it via dhl...i have no idea
good luck though:)

Dear Sophia,

After carefully considering your application for admission to the Class
of
2009, we regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you admission
to
Mount Holyoke College.

When reviewing applications, we consider a broad range of factors,
including
academic record, rigor of academic program, extracurricular and
community
involvement, and personal characteristics. The task of selecting young
women for the limited spaces available in the Class of 2009 was
particularly
difficult, as the students who apply to Mount Holyoke College tend to
be
uniformly strong and talented. This year, our applicant pool was one
of the
largest, most highly qualified, and most diverse groups in the
College's
history.

We send you our best wishes with the hope that your other choices will
lead
to a happy and rewarding college experience.

Sincerely,
Diane C. Anci
Dean of Admission

so girls this is my rejection

adio and success to all of you

I'm so sorry Sophia! I'm sure you will be very happy and successful at any university you choose to attend :).
