I got my letter of acceptance in the mail today. I'm guessing finacial aid letters come later?

I also received the big envelope with the acceptance letter in it today! =)
Pamplemousse, on pg. 15 of the booklet SCU sent, it mentions a little bit about financial aid letters/emails.

Congrats! any of you guys planning to go to scu?

njfan, I'm from northern-central New Jersey.

Yep, I definitely plan to attend

awesome! i had no idea santa clara was so well known out of california!

yeah, same, my dad kept telling me how great it was (before I applied), but said it was unknown on the east coast. glad to see he was wrong.

and satinribbon, i should probably read it more thoroughly, i just skimmed through the first few pages.

i'm not sure if i'm attending; it depends on where else I get in, and how much money I get

Acceptance package came today...finally! eCampus now allows me to make a deposit to hold a place in addition to letting me apply for housing. I'll have to wait for financial package though as I've already gotten a generous scholarship from my other top choice. It could be a tough decision if I get some decent money from SCU.

Congrats to all who have been accepted? Can you please post your
GPA / SAT scores / ACT scores

Condolences to those rejected. Can you also please post your
GPA / SAT scores / ACT scores

My daughter is anxiously awaiting the mail man every afternoon, as SCU is one of her top choices.

She has a 3.46 GPA from a highly competitive Catholic HS in the Bay Area / 1800 SAT, with a fair amount of EC and Comm Service
She was deferred from Early Action

^ A lot of people have posted on this thread:http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/santa-clara-university/457604-official-class-2012-admissions-decisions.html

tocollege,

That thread is sort of useless. If you really look through, most of the people who have posted there do not accurately represent SCU's true admission statistics. (Notice how many of those people don't plan on attending.)

^Ow!
Okay, I'll try not to get my feelings hurt by reminding myself how stressful the last two weeks of March are for all of us. I think what you are saying is that you would like to see accepted students who's statistics are similar to yours - right? Remember, CC posters are a high-achieving bunch and only represent a tiny fraction of a percent of the nearly 9,000 students who will be accepted this year.
I'll be hoping to see you posting on that "useless" thread soon!!! I know you are going to have some great options to choose from in April - only a few more days!
Good luck.

Oops! Meant to say "nearly 6,000 students who will be accepted," not 9,000!

Ugh. I won't hear about aid for a while because my dad updated the FAFSA after turning it in, to correct a number, and forgot to sign something. He fixed it, but SCU hasn't processed it yet.

For the sake of "accurately representing SCU's true admission statistics" (as mikei said), I have listed my stats on the "Official Class of 2012 Admissions Decisions'' thread. Just wanted to let you know...

tocollege,

I don't know if you took offense to my post or something. I was just saying, 7 out of the 11 (62%) posters in that thread reported 4.0+ GPAs (unweighted around 3.80/3.90+) whereas CollegeBoard says that that doesn't accurately represent the school. (In reality, last year 27% of accepted and attended students had a GPA of 3.75 or higher whereas 51% had a GPA of 3.25-3.75)

:) I didn't mean to offend anyone... At all.

though not want we wanted. D was rejected, and it was one of her top choice. Called the admissions office a couple of days ago, and they told me all decisions were mailed by last Friday. We live close by, less than 10 miles away, so when nothing came in the mail yesterday, I called SCU again this morning. They were very helpful, and looked up my D by her SS# and told me her decision was mailed over a week ago, and offered that I could come and pick it up at the office. So drove over, and picked up a small envelope. D is home sick. so she opened it when I got home. Not what we wanted, but it is nice to have a decision, and not be waiting any more!

Good luck to everyone!

Wow, I am still waiting to hear back from SCU. The admissions office said they sent out my application on April 1!

mikei - I feel your pain!!!!!!!! we are still waiting for a decision from daughters's top choice school. and now that scu it out for her (which was her other top choice), this one is even more crucial!

fyi - we did receive the scu letter in the mail (I had gone to pick it up at the scu admission office day before). it was dated, and postmarked on monday 3/31, and we received it on thursday 4/3, and we live less than 10 miles away, so go figure why it took so long to get here.

received another decision from boston mailed friday 3/28 and received it in san jose, ca area on thursday 4/3.

so, not only are the schools taking a long time, but so is the mail! murphy's law....

good luck, let us know the decision!
