When will we receive our letters? I know they said everyone will get theirs by April 1st, but does anyone know when they'll be mailed/we can start expecting them?

And does anyone know if deferred students will receive theirs any earlier? Probably not, but I wish we did :)

Whoo, never thought I'd have to go through this (the anxiousness) twice.

i got deferred with a 93 avg, and 1760/1180 SATs (male, born in pakistan)
My friend got in with a 93 avg and 1860ish/1220ish SATs (female, dominican)

I came to the conclusion that i had just missed out and that a 1800/1200 was basically the cutoff. From what ive read so far, every1 that got in EA got above either a 1800 combined or aboive 1200 CR + M.

ive seen that most of the people that got in (EA) were in the 1900s or lower 2000s.

Fordham recently popped up on my list of schools i really want to go to, but i dont know if its even possible to afford it with its tuition.

I applied only RD with a 1700/1220 and a avg. (male, born in nyc, nationality: pakistan)
The only thing im hoping is going to pull me through is my really good recommendation, essays, and my extensive work experience toward my major.

They start making decisions tomorrow? How exciting.

And yeah, I know my stats. But, I’m pretty sure they’re not typical of the others. I had a 3.8 UW (I think) and my SATs around 2000 superscored. To be honest, I’m not sure why they deferred me, but I don’t really think about that anymore. I just tried my hardest to convince them that I was really interested in them this time around…

And deferred means we didn’t get in through the EA pool, but we weren’t rejected either, so they send us to the regular decision pool.

Judging from the facebook page, it looks like Fordham’s sending out “Likely Letters” again. So if you’re an applicant at the tippy top of the pool, you should expect to get one soon.

I saw it caused some mild controversy about 2 years ago. Basically, Likely Letters are just letters that some schools will send out before actual decisions are released to students at the top of the pool, telling them that they’re most likely going to be admitted.

My S never got a “likely letter” last year. He got an email on 3/28 congratulating him on his acceptance. Then he got his packet a few days later and in the packet was his notification that he got the semifinalist scholarship (full tuition). So I wouldn’t despair if you didn’t/don’t get a “likely letter.”

Yeah, even by looking at the thread from last year, it looks like they had some random system for giving out likely letters. Not everyone with high stats even got one.

And jmsb- I think most or all of them have already been sent out. A couple of people on the Facebook page said they got theirs last week or so. But don’t worry, there’s only about 3 weeks before we get the real decisions!
