LOL! So true.

Has anyone received an email newsletter from Oberlin yesterday about the 6 myths of Oberlin? I suspect this may be auspicious one week ahead of notification date…

This makes me so nervous. I’ve not received any such emails… :(

Did anyone of you get an email with a login ID/password to check whether the admission officers received your documents, scores etc?

Other colleges sent that mail, but I did not receive anything from Oberlin.

Thank you.

I didn’t get one of those emails either so I don’t think they’re sending them out.

Wait, what are you guys saying? That those emails don’t actually exist? I have not gotten any of those emails either. Does livemylife think that those saying they recieved those emails are liars?

Shailen, I did not receive any such email. :)

No counting chickens for me. I won’t be surprised at all if I received a rejection letter. Disappointed? Definitely. But not overly surprised.

I did not receive an email with my user id and password. But I did receive the previously mentioned email.

@tynew – I think that people are talking about two different emails. One with the user name and password and the other was a personal one from an admissions people.

Argh, quinoa, it makes me want one so badly. I guess there was nothing special about me!

@Georgeanne

I won’t be worried if you didn’t get one. I’d bet it’s probably because different admissions people are assigned to different people (regions perhaps?) and some are probably more chatty than others.

tynew: I was talking about the email with the login/pwd. I don’t think those exist.

is it likely that they release decisions for internationals via email today?

I hope not. I got my rejection from Colorado today…I dont think I can stand two rejections in a row.

DerDeutscheMann, you are German; did you apply to the highly prestigious American-styled school, Jacobs University Bremen in your home country?

no, unfortunately way too expensive

Well of course people visited, but I know that there is a huge difference between the “should I apply here?” visit and the “can I actually live here for four years” visit. I too wish we had more time for those.

good luck to everyone in your decision making!

@DerDeutscheMann:

Oberlin is more expensive than Jacobs University Bremen. Most private US universities are more expensive in fact.

From which town in Germany are you from by the way?

Of course US Universities are more expensive but on the other hand they offer much more aid than german universities. I will check the jacob uni website again to be up to date though.

Im from Duesseldorf, NRW.

Uh, just found out that Jacob University is need-blind and has generous FA…still there is no theatre or film major offer, so nothing for me…

is decision coming out today?
