RD Decisions?

Yes. I’m from Colombo, Sri Lanka :)

I was rejected either…gosh I would have loved it.

Stats: Look at my Stats Profile

Wait folks, how about internationals living in the States? Email notification now or later with other students?

I am living in the States and I have NOT received any notification yet. Maybe they are waiting to send me the decision letter some days later…

I am on a waitlist. But still positive:) Congrats to the accepted ones:)

Hey to all international rejects!! No worries, that’r probably destiny…

Do domestic students get decisions before April 1? Or do we get to sit and bite our fingernails for another 2.5 weeks?

According to the Oberlin Blogs —“Decision letters for international students and others living abroad were mailed out yesterday, and email notifications were sent as well. Domestic decision letters will be mailed via snail mail next week.”

No fair. :stuck_out_tongue: You think they’d let domestic students know first.

YEAH, I’M JEALOUS.

Haha it makes sense to let the internationals know first though since their letters will take longer to arrive and because they have to make more extensive arrangements if they want to go to the visit days. But, yeah, it’s hard seeing all the internationals get their stuff first!

Hopefully they’ll mail things out on Monday so I can know before I go on a four-day trip on Thursday!! Arghhh I know I’m going to be calling my house every day I’m gone to see if I got any giant envelopes :)

Haha, I totally understand the rationale, but I WANNA KNOW, TOOOOOOO.

I’d be the same way, princessbell. Checking the mail is my compulsion at this time in my life.

Trust me, now that I got rejected I would be glad to get this message a lil bit later like domestic students. A resume so far: 2 rejections, no acceptance…its kinda hard to deal with rejections if you aren’t accepted anywhere.

Try not to worry! My first decision was a deferral, and for like 2 straight months I felt like I wouldn’t get in anywhere, but now it’s spring and I’m 7/7 in acceptances…as long as you applied to a decent variety of schools (safeties, matches, reaches), you should be okay!

Aw, man. Sorry to hear about the string of rejections here. :frowning: I wonder how much harder international admissions must be? Or is it easier?

it’s def. harder. when i applied the int’l applicants website said “The international applicant pool is very competitive and Oberlin College typically accepts only about 10 percent of international applicants.”

I have not received any email from Oberlin since I first sent all my package to the school. Does that mean that there is something wrong?

genie17: I’m a domestic applicant and I got an e-mail a few weeks after the deadline saying my application was complete (minus the midyear).

But I’d think that if Oberlin really needed something else from you, they’d contact you about it. I got some financial aid forms from them in the mail, telling me that I forgotten to fill them out…

I’m an international and I haven’t got a notification email yet :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: are there other internationals who haven’t?

clichedanomaly, don’t worry. i’m an international and i didn’y get notified either. just wait. there’s still hope right?

yeah of course… they’ll definitely give some sort of answer, I’m just impatient and antsy haha

good luck! hope you get in!
