RD Decisions?

@mp153- nope I didn’t change the name. But the person said on the board that he/she is “just paranoid about using [his/her] real name.”

Haha I seem like a stalker. The truth is I’m just really anxious/ nervous/ excited about this one piece of mail that might affect my whole life.

So if the wonderful renthead with the code name “Alexi Darling” visits this forum. I’m not stalking you. I swear. :)

Once again. Best of luck to everyone!!

Wow, I thought these would be here early this week!!! Hope it comes by Friday/Saturday on the East Coast!!! It’d be a nice birthday surprise…

Perhaps a letter from Oberlin will be in the mailbox when I get home from school. “The waiting is the hardest part.” Again, good luck to everyone!

it would be incredibly awesome if it came in the mail today. i have to leave the state for a wedding tomorrow morning, and i won’t be back until like april 3… it’s awful.
so i find out today or in like a week… lol, i’m probably going to go insane.

good luck everyone!

I got my acceptance packet today! It was postmarked March 25.

I received some amazing financial aid too, including a $20,000 John F. Oberlin scholarship. However, National Merit wasn’t listed – does this come later?

Holy butts, I hope I am as luck as you, goldenratiophi. But yeah, Natl. Merit isn’t given until after you’ve confirmed that school as you’re first choice with NMSC.
My interpretation of Oberlin’s policy on NM is that they give 1K-2K per year based on need, if you’re awarded a merit scholarship (which you already have).

But I’m guessing you live very close, and I’ll probably receive mine tomorrow (I’m about 3 hours away in WV)
Anticipation builds…

^ I live about 20 minutes away from Oberlin, so that’s why I got it so early.

I’m seriously grinning from ear to ear. I’ve been EXTREMELY anxious all year because I didn’t want to go to Ohio State (where I have a full-tuition scholarship). As long as I get at least 1,000 from NM, I’ll basically have full-tuition at Oberlin. SWEET. The work-study I got was also very reasonable, and there was no summer earning estimate factored in. Now I can just work during the summer to help pay off what my parents aren’t willing to pay!

Wow congrats goldenratiophi!
If they were sent out yesterday do you think they could make it to New York by tomorrow? or is that just wishful thinking…

@livinonthedge, also wishing…

^^ Congrats! That’s awesome.

On a side note, I just wanted remark how ridiculous / impressive / indicative of how neurotic this college process makes so many people it is that there are already 128 posts up about RD decisions even though the vast bulk of RD decisions haven’t yet been received.

the day dreamer, to be fair, the majority in the beginning of this thread were by internationals who did receive theres early, but that doesn’t make your point any less valid.
I know it’s brought out a touch of crazy in me.

How long do you think it will take to arrive in MN? If it was mailed yesterday, perhaps Friday or Saturday right? Which day is more likely???

MusicForAWhile - I would guess Friday.

Congrats goldenratiophi!

Everyone else -
May all your envelopes be large!

[Oberlin Blogs | Blog Entry: “The letters are in the mail!”](http://blogs.oberlin.edu/applying/applying/the_letters_are.shtml)

Watch your letter be mailed off :P

Wow! That is so cool! What a great school.

Hmm, from Oberlin to Kentucky should take about a day and a half… so tomorrow I should believe.

I’ll be disappointed if I don’t get in, but not crushed. By some miracle, I got into Macalester (early no less, surprising since I showed them no actual interest), and I’ve been reading their financial aid packages are looking very good this year, and I would be perfectly happy with Mac; in fact, given a choice between Oberlin and Mac, I would have to think a lot. My only apprehension is I’ve visited Oberlin, but not Mac, so I at least know Oberlin.

(Obviously, I still scarred by my first out-right rejection yesterday, from my first choice George Washington.)

Nerves, nerves.

accepted! I didn’t apply for financial aid but they gave me a John F. Oberlin scholarship. strange.

So…the letters are in the mail. Ohh man, it’s going to be an anxious weekend. I live in California, so I suppose it’ll be in my mailbox Saturday (if I’m lucky) or more likely, Monday. :(

Just found my Reed waitlist notice in my e-mail…though accepted at UC Berkeley. Neato. But now a little down about Reed’s offer. I bet I’m going to be more confused as to where to go after I get all of my letters, haha.

Later today, for sure, then. Can’t wait. DD would SO SO SO love to attend Oberlin. In 12 hours there will be lots of green and red posts on this thread. Good luck to everyone.

What does the letter look like? Was it regular mail or Fedex/UPS? Because I got my mail today already and there was no letter from Oberlin. I live in Florida.
